Hypnosis demonstration: Seeing is believing

A hypnosis demonstration is necessary for many people to believe that hypnotherapy can really help people and that hypnosis is real. Do you ever wonder what hypnotherapy looks like? Do you worry about hypnosis and what it can do? Seeing is believing. So it's time for hypnosis demonstrations. In this blog article, we take a closer look at the hypnosis demonstrations you can get at HIN.

Online hypnosis demonstration

We recently held a 24-hour hypnosis marathon in which Edwin demonstrated his Three Minute Reset technique and Farah Lutvica gave fun hypnosis demonstrations in between.

For example, during the 24-hour hypnosis marathon, Farah used the technique IMS ideomotor signals to help someone get rid of hay fever. This allergy can often be resolved with hypnosis.

Research even shows that self-hypnosis can be very effective in treating hay fever. The study compared two groups: one that practiced self-hypnosis and one that did not. The results for the self-hypnosis group were exceptionally good—so good, in fact, that the group that had not learned self-hypnosis went on to learn it after the study in order to experience its positive effects as well[1].

Farah has also helped someone improve their relationships. The technique used for this is the social panorama. This is often confused with a family constellation.

Unlike constellations, this is a technique you can perform entirely on your own. You don’t need any actors or other people—just the hypnotherapist.

The technique comes originally from NLP, Neuro Linguistic Programming. It can improve bonds between parents and children. I myself experienced this when I used this technique.

And if you have a little knowledge of hypnosis, you may be able to perform this exercise independently with self-hypnosis.

Almost immediately after applying the technique, my oldest son suddenly called me, whereas he had never done so before. In any case, the bond with my children has improved tremendously because of it.

Hypnosis demonstrations during our event

During the 24 Hour Hypnosis Marathon, I notably demonstrated the technique from The Three Minute Reset. This book fully explains the thinking behind the technique, so you can then apply the technique to yourself effortlessly.

This is a technique that can solve all kinds of problems. In the 24-hour hypnosis marathon, you’ll also see it used to resolve all sorts of issues, from stage fright to overcoming people-pleasing behavior.

In this video, you can follow the first 12 hours of the hypnosis marathon and see numerous demonstrations of the technique.

Hypnosis demonstrations during training

When you take the courses offered by the Hypnosis Institute of the Netherlands, you’ll first see a demonstration of every technique that’s explained. There are two reasons for this demonstration.

On the one hand, you’ll see how the technique works and get an example of the hypnotic suggestions you can give people while performing the technique.

On the other hand, you can see how quickly and effectively the technique is used to bring about a transformation in the person being hypnotized. This , in turn , motivates you to master the technique thoroughly.

It shows how powerful your mind, your brain, is to feel and change things in your life. This can be about mental issues or physical feelings.

The importance of hypnosis demonstrations

A hypnosis demonstration is incredibly important so to be inspired about the power of hypnosis.

In the process, hypnosis is being used in more and more fields, but unknown makes unloved.

Studies show that hypnosis demonstrations are important in healthcare, for example, so nurses and doctors want to learn more about hypnosis and how it can be used in healthcare.

Researchers see particular opportunities here, especially in supporting cancer treatment[2].

Personally, I also have experience with hypnotherapy for cancer patients, and it helps tremendously in making treatments simpler and easier for the client to undergo.

Dispelling misconceptions about hypnosis

There are also many misconceptions about hypnosis. For example, people think:

  • That you completely lose control of yourself.
  • That after hypnosis you don't remember what happened.
  • That a hypnotherapist makes you do crazy things.

Unfortunately, this is because show hypnotists often suggest that you won't remember anything you did on stage and because people on stage do things that you yourself think "I would never do that."

What’s interesting is that in stage hypnosis, people from the audience are chosen who are highly suggestible and who enjoy being seen and receiving attention .

At the same time, under hypnosis you don't do something you don't want to do. For example, when at such a show once a believing woman joined and the suggestion came to her to dance, she did not do so because her faith did not allow her to do so. So she didn't want to do this and so she just stood still while other participants were dancing.

In the process, hypnotherapy is very different from a hypnosis show.

The intention with which you enter hypnosis is very different. Instead of just having a good time and putting on a “show,” you actually want to solve your problems.

The hypnotist also has a very different intention when it is a hypnotherapist.

Namely helping you solve your problem and not having fun with what you are doing.

  • So you definitely remember what's going on.
  • You do normal things.
  • You are in control.

The hypnotherapist is there solely to help you unravel your problems, such as by helping you identify the root cause of the issue.

Then you can get a variety of suggestions to help you solve the problem.

These suggestions then follow specific techniques, such as the “Three Minute Reset” technique .

Greater awareness for hypnosis

More awareness for hypnosis is important to make it increasingly accepted. Hypnotherapy has been practiced for more than 100 years, yet it remains a relatively unknown phenomenon[3].

While it is good for an awful lot of complaints. Consider mental complaints such as:

  1. Fears
  2. Depression
  3. Compulsions
  4. Low self-confidence

Or consider physical complaints, such as:

  1. Unexplained pain
  2. Irritable bowel syndrome
  3. Chronic pain that cannot be treated

You can't think of a thing or hypnosis can help you get rid of it, or in the case of a chronic problem, deal with it so it doesn't bother you.
