Impostor syndrome… Maybe you struggle with that too…

The scammer syndrome, do you know it? Maybe you suffer from it. The other day I was in a session with someone and they suffered from it. Super smart, super smart, nobody in the family was that smart but she considered herself a con artist. Not in the sense of the word that she literally scams people but the scammer syndrome is more of, "Yeah what if they find out that I'm actually not that smart at all, that I'm actually not good at all, that I'm actually ...am. Somebody different than they think I am.

And that's the scammer syndrome. That you might be very good at something, for example, but you don't think so. The whole outside world is but you don't think so and you just wait until the whole outside world finds out that it's right. What you think. But probably it is exactly the other way around and the whole outside world already sees who you are, or what you can do, which is maybe better. Only you just don't realize that, you just don't see that. And then you're going to prove, then you're going to prove that you're not a crook.

Every problem is a solution to something else

And that, of course, can take you very far. Because here's the thing: look every problem is a solution to something, every problem keeps you shy of a certain direction. It also keeps you from going in a certain direction, again, that's how it is. But it also pushes you in a certain direction, usually not necessarily a nice direction. At least the end station is usually complaints, in one form or another.

But in the beginning, it can bring you a lot, achieve a lot.You may be able to get your degree because of that because you think, "Yes I just have to have that degree. You may be able to make a lot of money for it because yes then you are somebody. You might have bought a big house, you might get a great job. Well well all those kinds of things, often materialistic and in the outside world important things you might say (what is important you might say). My degree from university, a master's degree, a doctoral degree, titles like that. Yes then you can show: see I'm a doctor.

A lot of people with doctoral degrees, still feel they are not good enough. Despite the title, they still feel like a scammer. Yes not that they are scamming people again, but that they feel like, "Yes if they really found out who I am, what I can do or how I am, they would never have given me that title of course, they can't. While they worked really hard for it and they made it. And maybe even passed with cum laude or magna cum laude even. And then still think: 'Yes no yes you know, I'm not good enoughyet'. And that's it.

There are certain, there's something underneath that makes you feel that way and you can't get rid of that with a title, you can't get rid of that with money, you can't get rid of that with a house, you can't get rid of that with another job.

What's really going on?

You only get rid of that when you naturally go deep soul diving in the sense that you start looking at it in the sense of, what is actually going on here? Because those kinds of problems, those kinds of challenges, literally get you into trouble. Other problems that you may not see the correlation of. You might get physical complaints, and with those physical complaints you go to the doctor and they'll say, "You have this physical complaint, you can take painkillers for this, keep an eye on it. And then they are going to see if there is a physical cause behind it.

But well when you realize that maybe 80% of all complaints are psychosomatic, and I have heard people say that many times more so between 90-95% percent even. And the only physical cause of a physical complaint, you might say, is external injury. So you get hit by a car, for example, or you drink poison, which is a very obvious cause of you having a physical complaint. If you pour a bottle of bleach down your throat, everybody understands that. But the rest is much murkier, that is much more holistic. Also much better viewed holistically than just physically.

Of course you have to physically check it out, it would be stupid not to. Of course you need to see a doctor first, that seems like the most logical route to me. That's what I do, if I have a physical complaint I go to a doctor. A doctor who has studied for that, knows the physical body, the ins-and-outs. I get measured, blood test, scan, everything. Well okay and something comes out of that, but that's only 1 body: the physical body. But we have 3 more bodies:

- We have a mental body > what we think what we believe

- We have an emotional body > what we feel

- And a spiritual body > an energetic body, what is the meaning of this complaint, you could also put it that way

Those three are not examined by a doctor, generally. Who specializes entirely in the physical. Well then you also want the three other specialists who specialize in the mental, in the emotional and in the spiritual. And those 4 together gives a more complete picture. Those 4 together provide the right picture so to speak. For the right idea, the right treatment plan. Because if I am going to fight symptoms, imagine I notice that my symptoms are due to something physical, then that could be a symptom of an emotion that I put away for a very long time, for example. Then I'm going to fight the symptom but the cause is still there so the symptom is just going to manifest somewhere else somehow.

Mentally, there is much to gain

But physical is good to do, he with nutrition, exercise, sleep. That triangle so to speak you can get a lot out of now, really extremely. So I would definitely bet on that. The second, that's a bit my field: mental, emotional. You can get a lot out of that as well. Like this person that I did a session with a while ago: she had all kinds of inflammations, so then you start looking physically. She had already been there, but there wasn't really anything to be found there, a causality.

Well then we start looking at the mental emotional piece and you find that there are a lot of problems underlying that in terms of an expectation pattern, first created by parents, consciously or unconsciously and then by yourself. 'I have to follow these rules or else I'm nobody at all.' And those rules you don't want to follow, you have to follow. So unconscious rules, consciously have to follow. But at some point those rules literally destroy you and make you sick even. So sick that you get physical complaints, so sick that you can't do anything anymore.

So I asked, "Were you getting signals before? At first it was really, "No idea. But at some point, as we got further and further along, this started getting clearer and clearer the story, all of a sudden, 'Oh yeah, yeah 10 years ago....'. So first it was 'No I have no idea' but suddenly it was 'Oh Yes'. Because she started to see the correlation and 10 years ago then I also had signals but did nothing with them. Hey and those were relatively mild signals, little signals, of hey: 'Wouldn't you even stop doing this for example, with these rules then'. Well don't and then the signals get stronger and stronger.

And the signs are at some point serious illnesses can be contracted. They can. Yes and that is not to be underestimated and then if you are going to treat a serious illness only physically yes then so you miss the causality where it comes from. And of course you have to exclude that physical because maybe there is a physical causality. Maybe something genetic but even there you may wonder if that is the causality and not the circumstances that allow the gene to do its work. Because it also could not have done it in any other circumstance. That is always to be looked at much more holistically but well, again some even severe syndromes can be solved with good nutrition and good exercise and good sleep.

Little stress too, then again we get that mental emotional piece. Take away the stress, then what happens? Then you will also find that a lot of complaints disappear. And that stress can of course be taken away by exercise but also again by meditation, for example, by feeding your mental body. But also feeding spiritual body through meditation, through being still. And mediation of course comes by in all forms, it's as simple as that.

Where did it start?

And then, what I'm a fan of: the mentally emotional piece, to figure out "Okay, where did it start? Where in your life did you decide to follow those rules. And we're going to undo that decision. And sometimes you don't remember where, that might be in your very early childhood, we dive - hypnosis is very cool because then you can go all the way back to the beginning where it originated, undo the decision there, forgive your inner child and heal it and let it melt and grow up - and suddenly it's different. And then that works through because there is no more causality, there is no more cause through which those complaints can arise because we have resolved that cause. Then suddenly the symptoms ebb away, suddenly it becomes different, suddenly things disappear. And that's super interesting so long story short:

Never look at it through one lens, look at it through multiple lenses, also look at it, "Okay, what emotions could underlie this. And what idea, what belief is just not helping me anymore? What is the meaning of this complaint? Why is it in that place and not some other place? Imagine that is in your gut, it often has to do with digesting. Gut: digesting. The seat, of emotions also your belly but often that is processing. The heart is love. And if it's in your chest: chest is more caring and love. So well those are other places and if complaints arise there, take a good look: hey am I taking good care of myself? Or what does my heart want to tell me?

And it sounds very crazy of course because my heart can't talk, but just listen. You know then suddenly you might get something. Like, 'You should do this or do that sometime'. And then do that or test it out just like that. And those are very interesting things to investigate. Well if you can't figure it out yourself, for whatever reason, look for someone. Bestetherapeut.nl is a very good one for that, to find a therapist that suits you and is near you. So that's a good one, and otherwise go to komuithypnosis.nl to teach yourself there, of course, this kind of thing. Because that's gold, because if you can do this then it makes your life just a little bit easier and I wish that to everybody. Well, have a nice day, later.
