Take action, get out from behind your PC, get up from that couch, get out of bed. How do you take action? How do you make sure you do what you need to do or what is necessary to make your life better? There are all kinds of ways to get into action mode, but often it's a matter of just doing it.
Especially at the beginning of the year, good intentions are a reason for many people to take action, but why do most people wait until a certain date to take action and don't people do it immediately when they think of something they need to address?
This is because people have beliefs about taking action, when to do it, how long to do it, and even until when to do it. So whether you take action may depend on deadlines, whether you make appointments with other people and whether you think you can complete the task in the time "set for it."
Then factors such as boredom and not getting social support, such as with compliments, can also keep you from taking action. Usually, then, you also have a mindset that doesn't really help you get into action mode and you want to do just enough to get something done. Hence, people with procrastination often only start working on something just before there is a deadline.
This does not mean that procrastination is necessarily bad, at least if the procrastination is because you are weighing choices. For example, if you want to lose weight, you may want to read up on whether just dieting is enough or whether you should also exercise before you choose what you want to change in your life and then do so. Unfortunately, for people with perfectionism, this can cause them to get stuck in this choice stage before taking action.
Sometimes, unfortunately, procrastination does result from more negative things, such as low self-esteem, anxiety, depression or even that you do things somewhat compulsively and thus have a hard time changing those things.
Are you someone who is very compliant with what people want from you? Then you're also slightly more likely to procrastinate on what you need to do, rather than executing quickly in action.
When you get into action mode, your thoughts are focused on "getting something done". "just doing it" and "making something of it." Typically, people in action mode also have more self-control and intrinsic motivation than people who procrastinate on what to do[1].
Taking action through meditation
There are several ways to get into action mode despite your character traits. One popular way to do this is through meditation.
People try to solve problems by meditating on them. You then let your mind go over the problem and what you want your life to look like. You do this because the idea is that if you realize your goal or solution enough, for example, your subconscious will automatically cause you to do more of what is necessary to achieve that goal.
Look, you can meditate for years (which is a good idea, by the way), but that doesn't mean those problems out there will then solve themselves.
After all, sometimes something is blocking you from taking action, and all the meditation in the world can't take that away.
It is then much more convenient to literally move to action.
Taking action through hypnosis
If you find it hard to write and don't know what to write? Start writing.
Finding it hard to exercise? Get moving .
If you can't find clients? Start calling.
Take action. Charles Schulz drew a comic strip of Snoopy every day in the newspaper. From 1950 to 2000 (until his death). That's 18,250 comics!
He said, "Writersblock is for amateurs.
He has a point. You just have to take action.
'But I don't know how...' Just do it.
You can start meditating on it, resolve your blockages with therapy, start discussing your problems with your friends, lie on a divan for years or just take action.
Sometimes it's that simple. That, too, is a form of hypnosis. Procrastination. It's not something you have, it's something you do. You procrastinate. You do something that prevents you from doing or will prevent you from doing something else. If you don't do that, you will do that other thing.
'Yes, but...'
To kill that little voice, just take action. So if you're reading this and you have yet to do anything? Do it now! That one phone call you keep putting off? Pick up the phone now and make the call.
If you've had time to read this you can also call, or write, or clean up, or whatever.
Waiting for a sign from above or something? This is him.
GO! Action Beats Meditation!
Removing blockages
So just do it, try that first before crying about blockages and therapy you need.
Do you find that you still don't manage to stick with something, to really just do it? Then hypnosis can also help you get into action mode in another way.
For example, a hypnotist can help you overcome that little voice that says "but first..." or "yes, but..."
After all, these are thoughts, and thoughts don't have to be true at all. Thoughts can also be mistaken just as I'm sure you have been (probably based on those thoughts).
This is because when you are in hypnosis you are more open to the hypnotist's suggestions. This means that what the hypnotist says you find "true" more quickly.
For example, you can have a conversation in hypnosis. For example, I helped a woman get rid of an unpleasant feeling during a seminar.
We were talking about this feeling and then she said "yes it is very deep" because I had hypnotized her I could just say "no way, the feeling is just in your arm". Because she was in hypnosis at that moment her focus went directly to her arm, where I had "put that feeling in" and dissolved the idea that the feeling was very deep.
A day after the hypnosis session, she really didn't have that feeling anymore.
So if you're thinking "yeah, but..." About performing an action. Then a hypnotist can help you by, for example, while you are in hypnosis, saying "No, but, that will be fine later" and because you are then in hypnosis your subconscious accepts this faster and that alone can make the blockage or blocking thoughts disappear.
So then it's like: GO! Action beats meditation! Because when you start meditating on your problems, it's actually very much like fretting and ruminating. And when has that ever moved you forward? Never at all.
So are you waiting for a sign to do something, something good for you that will make your life better and longer-lasting? Then this might be the sign.
Signs to take action
Another thing you can do with hypnosis is to better pick up signals from your subconscious. For example, if you are someone who is not very sensitive, such as someone with high sensitivity, you may overlook some signals from your body and subconscious.
Hypnosis allows you to magnify those signals your body is giving you, or that your subconscious is giving you. That way you notice it faster when your subconscious is like "pay attention now, this is a signal to do something."
This then is actually a signal from your conscious that says "take action."
Are you now wondering if hypnosis is really that powerful? Then come to a hypnosis playshop. During the hypnosis playshop you will learn how to bring people under hypnosis in 1 day and you will also feel how hypnosis feels (because we practice on each other). The hypnosis playshop is given in Zwolle and Wormerveer.
Instead, do you want to help people as a hypnotherapist? Then you can also enroll right away in one of our trainings. The trainings are held in Zwolle, Wormerveer or online.
