Past lives or past lives in this life?
I don't know how you think about it. Many people think of a past life as a life before birth. For example, a life in the year 1,700 or 1,800 in France, Italy or maybe just in the Netherlands
Many people who believe in this concept think they lived a life before this one. What I find much more interesting are the past lives within your current life. I’ve read a lot about this and experienced it myself.
For example, people may have experienced something in a past life that is now causing them distress.
The stages in your life can be thought of as past lives
But you have also lived many past lives in this life. For example, you have been a baby, a toddler and an elementary school student. These are already very different lives. Before school you have a very different life than when you go to school. At some point you go to another school and that is another life as well. High school is also another life and even then when you go to work you have another life.
For example, I’m now part of the Hypnosis Institute of the Netherlands, and that’s a completely different life than it was 15 years ago. Imagine if I were still exhibiting behaviors from a previous life—such as addictive behavior, aggression, or people-pleasing—in my current life. Does this stem from my current life, my current situation, or from my past life?
As a business owner, “please” behavior no longer makes any sense at all. So that stems from a different part of my life. Now I lead, because I am a father and the owner of an institute with people working there. So “people-pleasing” behavior isn’t relevant anymore. This stems from a time when that behavior was useful. There’s a good chance this stems from my early childhood, because you get attention, love, food, and drink when you please others. Now there are other ways to get those things. You can easily take care of your own food, drink, and attention without resorting to that behavior.
Old beliefs still have influence
But that toddler still inside you doesn't know that yet. That one doesn't know about life in 2020. That's science fiction. As a toddler, I don't know that I am also living in 2020. Now I do know for myself reasonably certain that I am currently 45 and alive. Yay!
So I have all kinds of things that I do and behaviors that I exhibit. Which work well and I experience cool things as a result. But sometimes I also do things that I don't recognize at all. That I think, "Who is this?". Then that is a past life interfering with this life. It comes forward and still has the idea of being in that life that I was once in.
So the idea is that you don't need to go back to past lives, but that you have lived enough lives in this one to look back at that; at why you are doing what you are doing now.
That you don't give that inner toddler, toddler or baby, who may still feel inferior footing, who feels like he doesn't belong, who is still angry, who is still insecure because he was rejected as an adolescent. That you don't give that one the wrong influence on your present life.
All those lives live on in you at the same time and occasionally surface, like a past life.
When you look at it that way, you can look for that toddler in hypnosis and say:
"Hey honey, it's ok. We're living in 2019 and we can now do those things you wish you could have done back then. We've gained all kinds of experiences that mean we don't have to exhibit these behaviors anymore. We have found other ways to get what we want. It may seem like science fiction dear. So it's okay, come with me 😊."
Explore what is working for your current life right now
If you connect all those moments to the present, then there’s no longer a problem. In the present, after all, there’s no problem that’s been imagined. Of course, there are things happening right now that you have to deal with, but those aren’t necessarily problems.
Most problems come from repeating things from your past that don't work now. Or that you think of things about your future that will never happen, but that produce unpleasant feelings.
If you’re truly in the present moment—as with meditation or mindfulness—then the past and the future are much less relevant. Those people or spiders are no longer relevant.
These are all past lives activated by a trigger. By those past lives, then, I mean your inner toddler, preschooler or adolescent who is still insecure. This man or woman you are now does not have to be that way at all and is not in a lot of contexts.
Should you find this interesting check out my book: you don't have it, you do it. One of the things in it is working with different sides of your personality and that is basically all past lives.
I have sometimes said that there are no past lives. By that I meant that everything is now. But you can suffer from your past lives. Even your lives that you have had since birth. And it's good to be aware of this. That you can say, "But we're already in 2020." If you manage to make this 1 in your mind, you are actually now as you are now.

Your current life has an intention
Every stage of life has a specific purpose. At first, that purpose is determined for you—for example, as a small child, you have to learn to walk and so on. In school, you have to do your best to earn a diploma, and after that, you look for a job.
Once those intentions are fulfilled, it is important to set intentions of your own to get a nice life.
With that intention in your mind, you can find out if elements from your past life will help you achieve the intention or not. By working with this type of intention, you often have a more successful life than if you don't work with this[1].
For most people, the period from age15 to 25 is when they consciously set life goals. For example, what career they want to pursue when they grow up. Between the ages of25 and50, these goals become increasingly specific. For example, you might want to have children. You might want to buy a house. You might want a good relationship with certain people. You might want a certain amount of money in your savings account. You might want to do something for society. This may still be the case even after that, or you may intend to look back on a fulfilling life by then, provided everything has gone more or less as you had hoped[2].
Your past life can also influence your present life. Such as that you always thought you would become a doctor, but couldn't handle the level of training. What your parents used to always tell you is actually something from your past life that is now holding you back from persevering anyway[3], when you might become happier choosing your own goals instead of those of your parents.
So it's important to have an intention in the here and now that you have created for yourself. That originates from your mature and developed brain and not from the brain of yourself when you were a child.
Releasing past lives
Talking in hypnosis to your previous toddler life when you find that it is infringing on what you are doing now and it may well help you let go of misplaced behavior .
In addition, you can also use hypnosis to release things that are bothering you. For example, you can visualize how to let go of a particular irritation because you have failed at something in the past. Maybe you put the irritation in a bubble and poke it, which makes the irritation disappear.
There are all kinds of ways in which hypnosis can help you put past lives behind you, so you can move forward with the intention you have now and behave according to what is convenient in your present life.
You can learn exactly how this works through the Hypnosis Institute of the Netherlands’ training programs. The courses are offered in Wormerveer, Zwolle, and online.
You can learn the basics of hypnosis in a hypnosis workshop. These are held in Wormerveer and Zwolle.
Would you like to see how someone can be freed from past lives if this is still an issue for them? Then you can attend a hypnosis seminar.
