Seeing the hypnosis of success

A while ago, we saw something very special. The Netherlands won the Eurovision Song Contest. I thought that was great, but the best thing about moments like that is that there are also people watching who are captivated by that win. Who give it hope to also be able to achieve this kind of success

You see this in sports, too. When Epke Zonderland became champion, suddenly many more kids started doing gymnastics.

You see the success, you get inspired, and you get to work. Then, after 10–15 years, you see the results. That’s what I love so much about these kinds of events.

Many people feel that it doesn't make sense and costs too much money. Here I somewhat agree, but what effect does it have on children or adults? What hope does it give people?

All those inspired children then sign up for activities like gymnastics or music lessons. Among them may be new talent. There, someone finds his or her life’s purpose— someone who finds meaning in his or her life, at least for a few years.

Achievements like this are inspiring. They motivate people. You see this when a soccer team wins the championship, too. It can spark a flame that inspires an entire generation to take action. You never know just how far that actually goes, or how far that light shines.

For example, did you know that music can inspire people to learn a particular language? One of my team members used to be a total fan of the Spice Girls in elementary school and therefore made an extra effort to learn English, but of course another European language can also be fun to be able to speak (Russian, German or Spanish). Music is also used to make language lessons more engaging and inspiring[1].

How far can it inspire you to do something? When you look at your own life, you've probably been inspired by someone. Maybe not by a Song Contest or a soccer team, but by someone you saw doing something or who said something to you. That you thought, "This is cool, I should do something with this."

Inspiration for making sense of your life

Imagine one percent of the 200 million viewers of the Eurovision Song Contest getting inspired, that's two million people. That's mega big! Or half a percent, that's still a million.

Then there are thousands, millions of people inspired to do something with their lives.

I had never actually looked at it that way, but the last time I looked at it differently. That it has an effect in people's minds. It gives them hope or gives them an idea. It can help people make something of life while they are down in the dumps. That music can then rescue them from that situation. Then they go for it. It's not about becoming a top artist or soccer player then.

It's all about making them feel like doing something and living.

It makes life a lot easier. The idea for your hobby, or whatever, you picked up somewhere.

That’s why it’s so important to get out there. If you never go outside, where will you get your ideas? If you never try anything new, where will you get your ideas?

When you suddenly see things differently or start doing something new, you can gain many ideas from that experience that will inspire you. You see this, too, in people who have set themselves the goal of doing something every month or every day that they’ve never done before. To do something different from, say, last year (if you do it once a year).

This can also be something very small, like taking a different route home for a change. Then you might see or experience new things that inspire you to come up with new ideas—the one idea.

It is not for nothing that students are encouraged to go to museums. For example, a museum visit can also inspire them to do more with art, design or even enginering. A technical museum can inspire to do something precisely with engineering[2]. You get ideas from it.

Inspiration gets you your idea

You do this all by yourself, coming up with ideas, but you need something to help you get those ideas. Maybe you absolutely love this blog and think, "Yeah, I'm going to do something every week now that I've never done before."

If through this blog I reach a person who becomes inspired, then I am satisfied. That's what I do it for, because you never know how far that change will reach.

Those new ideas can create all kinds of new thoughts and habits that will have you living a completely different life 10 years from now. How that came about doesn't matter, but somewhere there was some kind of click that made you change it.

It could be anything—an achievement, this blog, or perhaps a book that inspires you to take action. Maybe you’re waiting for a sign. In that case, this is your sign to go ahead and do what you want to do.

Can't get out of your house? Entrepreneurs are also inspired by social media or finding facts about how something works in their field[3].

Yolo (you only live once)

Because you have a life. It's not a dress rehearsal. So you're just going to do it. Of course things can go wrong, but you just pick it up again. Not every write-up of mine is great and some are good. But I don't care, I just want to share this. I want to throw this out into the world. Even if I only reach one person. If it's two it's even cooler, but it's okay. It's all good.

So are you holding yourself back? Are you thinking, "Who's waiting for it?" There is always someone waiting for your good ideas. Good luck!

Overcoming fear of doing something different

Now, you might find it exciting to step out of your comfort zone to gain new ideas. Perhaps you’re afraid of what people will think of you if you step out of line.

If, despite all that, you still want to try something different, hypnosis can help you overcome that fear of the unknown. Hypnosis can help you feel more confident, so you can finally do something you’ve never done before.

With regression, for example, you can find out why you’re afraid to do something you’ve never done before. This often depends on your beliefs, and with regression, you go back to the moment when the belief arose that it’s better for you to stick to what you’ve always done.

Then the hypnotist - while you are in hypnosis - helps you change this moment in your mind. This can be done in many ways. For example, you can put your older self in the situation or you can empathize with other people who were with you at the time and discover why they did what they did.

These kinds of methods help you shift your mindset, allowing you to change the beliefs that are holding you back from doing things differently.

In addition, self-hypnosis can also help you go out and empower yourself. You then put yourself into hypnosis and you can then listen to something your hypnotherapist has created for you, such as a guided visualization.

Or you repeat aloud certain affirmations given to you by your hypnotherapist, such as:

"I am strong."

"I can do anything."

"I am free."

"I get to do what I feel like doing."

These are just examples. Depending on your beliefs, you may receive other suggestions from your hypnotherapist to take home to work with.
