Hormone balance and the type of person you are
SODT neurotransmitters and your hormone balance make you a certain type of person. People who have more testosterone are more muscular, hairier and often have a powerful jawline. They are also naturally stronger.
But their survival strategy then is often to become, be and remain the strongest. He or she can do the most pull-ups and in doing so, that person feels safest
Then there’s the other side: the hormone estrogen. This is more prevalent in women than in men. It, in turn, gives rise to entirely different qualities and characteristics such as connection, nurturing, and empathy. This is also a wonderful survival strategy.
After all, they cannot become the strongest, but rather survive by connecting with communication.
Also, estrogen makes the pelvis wider, which in turn triggers men to fall for those women. So those males with testosterone fall on women with lots of estrogen, because they are good at giving birth and taking care of children. And that's good for offspring, so the two attract each other.
Men and women have different hormone balances, but individually they can differ.
Then there are also many neurotransmitters—substances that transmit signals between nerves. There are several types, such as dopamine. This is a neurotransmitter that makes you feel happy and energetic. It can, for example, make you feel like doing something.
Some people get above average results from this. Those people are the explorers, the adventurers who want to discover new things. Those don't feel like fighting the testosterone boys at all. Their survival tactic is precisely to look in other places to see if there is what they want there. They are people who start projects and keep going. Maybe they don't finish anything either, because they still need that shot of dopamine.
Then there’s the other aspect, which involves serotonin. This helps stabilize your mood. It dampens feelings such as anxiety and insecurity, making you feel more stable and confident.
For example, when people are anxious, they are given medications that cause more serotonin to enter the body.
People who are more adept at this survive by maintaining an overview, staying calm, and approaching danger analytically—allowing them to assess the situation without getting too emotional.
These four facets, everyone has some kind of profile of that.
How a person naturally is with these substances creates a certain personality, and you can't always do much about that. But if you know about yourself what type you are through your hormones and neurotransmitters, then you can design your life accordingly.
For example, it is not helpful to be different from your base. This often actually causes you to become unhappy. Of course, you can learn from anything. If I do a lot of strength training, I also get more testosterone. Of course you can make yourself vulnerable.
But you also shouldn't start suppressing things that are already naturally present. Like I enjoy doing new things and discovering new things with my dopamine. This can also be a pitfall. The trap of not finishing anything because you keep starting something new. Then you can find someone who is just serotonin driven, who can turn everything I discover into a structure.
When you look at these kinds of profiles and discover that the people in your business are all the same, you do have a challenge. If you have all testosterone males everyone is mostly fighting with each other, but no new things are being discovered.
When you look at yourself in this way and how everyone has a certain foundation, it does get interesting to see how you can then work best with other people.

Hypnosis and its impact on hormones: testosterone
Hypnosis also affects your hormonal balance. In a Finnish study, participants were asked to perform stressful activities, specifically running exercises and taking a sauna bath (which is actually an ice bath). A year later, they relived this experience while under hypnosis.
What did they find? By recalling the memory through hypnosis, they (naturally) produced more stress hormones, including more testosterone[1]. So if you want more testosterone, thinking about stressful situations while under hypnosis might help you achieve that. Unfortunately, you’ll also produce more stress hormones, so it remains to be seen how beneficial and healthy this really is for you.
Hypnosis and estrogen
Estrogen is nice, but after menopause, as a woman you have much less of it. Consequently, you often find that you can suddenly find it a lot less fun to take care of other people than before menopause.
In addition, it can have other effects, such as hot flashes. It is now known that you can reduce these through hypnotherapy. This does not mean that you will magically produce more estrogen, but it does mean that by changing your mental state, you will have fewer hot flashes[2].
In addition, you also need estrogen to grow breasts, and now comes the extraordinary thing: In the 1970s, research was done to see if hypnosis could help you grow breasts. What was found was that this succeeded in hypnosis where suggestions were used about growing the breasts to the desired size, but not in hypnosis where no hypnotic suggestions about the breasts were given. No idea if this also has a correlation with estrogen production, but it is remarkable.
At the time, scientists found hypnosis to be a good alternative to surgical breast augmentation[3].
Hypnosis and dopamine
Dopamine is related to hypnosis in several ways. For example, your dopamine activity has a predictive factor on how hypnotizable you are. The more dopamine, or even the more enzymes important for dopamine production, the more hypnotizable you are[4].
In addition, dopamine also plays a role in overcoming social anxieties, because when you have overcome them you feel like you have to go out. Research shows that hypnosis - when used against social anxiety - can cause the systems to make more dopamine, reducing the amount of anxious delusions that make no sense[5].
Hypnosis and serotonin
Serotonin reuptake inhibitors are often prescribed for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It now appears that hypnosis can rival this type of medication in reducing PTSD symptoms[6]. This may mean that hypnosis affects your serotonin receptors or neurotransmitters.
In addition, serotonin also plays a role in irritable bowel syndrome, particularly when this syndrome causes diarrhea. This syndrome can also be effectively treated with hypnosis[7].
Hypnosis and showing your strengths
You can see that hypnosis can be particularly helpful when you have stopped making a hormone or when a neurotransmitter is no longer being made or doing what it is supposed to do due to stress or anxiety.
But if everything is actually fine, then the most important thing is to be able to be yourself. To allow yourself to be who you are, regardless of what other people think.
Hypnosis can help you focus on your own strengths and be able to go a long way with those oars.
Perhaps you have high testosterone levels, but all that masculine energy is being held back because you only had female teachers instead of male ones. This may have led you to believe that competition and winning are bad things, when in fact they’re simply part of life (especially if you ’re an entrepreneur).
Who knows, maybe your caring is something that was previously seen as weakness, so you are now inhibiting yourself in your caring.
Perhaps your urge for discovery was often seen as irritating and stubborn, which is why you now try to do "as you should," but are not happy at all.
Your environment may also find you boring, precisely because you like overview and structure so much. So you just join in on all these adventures, but whether it really makes you happy? No, for you it is not the "perfect" life.
With hypnosis, you can find out why you find it difficult to be yourself and how this came about. Then you can do something in your mind to deal with the arising moment, making it less of an influence on you.
Your beliefs about how the world works and how you’re supposed to function within it will then change, making it easier for you to align your behavior with your physical blueprint.
