Pulling off limiting beliefs

There is such a thing as the law of attraction and, in my belief, there is also such a thing as the law of subtraction. In this case, it may be about subtracting from limiting beliefs. After all, those often cause your life to be not fun and then you can start attracting all kinds of fun things, but if those limiting beliefs are still there then it's actually something bad with glitter (the beautiful) over it.

Of course, that's not quite what you want either.

You can ask the question, what do you want to put on in your life, but what do you want to take off (or take off like a coat you no longer want)?

The law of subtraction also exists. This is in the sense of things being stripped from you, like your infancy is stripped from you, your adolescence is stripped from you, maybe relationships are stripped from you, and at the end of the song even your whole life is stripped from you and then at least this life is done.

So in a way, you can think of it as the law of subtraction.

Things come and go. The Roman Empire is also no more.

So you can want to attract things, want to add things, but what are you actually adding to it? If your life is not that fun, then your life is not fun but with glitter.

So sometimes it's better to think about what you want to subtract. This does not mean there is anything in you that is not right. Your core is ultimately love and light. But there may have been a coat put around that. You had to wear that from your parents or your friends or your school and for you to feel that is what you have become.

You then have to take off that coat of limiting beliefs. For it is full of rules, ideas and beliefs that you don't want, that you don't want to be. Neither are you at all.

All of this you can subtract and strip. Strip away what is not yours and what is not working for you. Ideas and beliefs that are not helping you may be subtracted.

Just as infancy has been stripped from you (just look in the mirror), the rest of that infancy (or a large part of it) may be stripped as well. You are not small, things are not difficult and you can learn things.

We may all have within ourselves those rules that limit us. Many of those rules come from that childhood.

So you are getting bigger, that infancy is being pulled off you, but that jacket you still have on inside yourself.

So use the law of subtraction before you use the law of attraction.

You can put on all kinds of stuff about what you believe and can think of, but when you're still in that little toddler jacket, it's hard to think of those things.

So first, enjoy getting rid of limiting beliefs and then enjoy attracting them, because then you won't be limiting what you can think of either.

You are ultimately love and light and everything else you may take away from it.

Then you will find that you attract love and light, or abundance. And that makes sense, because that's also more who you are.

I see that many people know the law of attraction, but don't realize that they may also subtract a lot first. I mean you start healing within yourself. You remove the limiting beliefs. You are going to make generational growth with this. Because what you resolve within yourself, you also resolve for your next generation.

What often hinders you now?

Often this is fear, and it is created by rules. Like that you're not good enough.

Or it's a sense of worthlessness or powerlessness. The loos.

Despair.

And the existential question: why am I here?

You may strip all that off, so that at some point you begin to realize as much as you can that you are there and that there may or may not be a reason for it.

You do things and you are.

And what you do and are, or who you are, that's all up to you.

Who you want to be comes next.

That's when things get interesting, because then you start attracting things because you choose to. You are no longer hindered from choosing.

Then you can become the person you want to be.

You can even play multiple roles. Be multiple people, such as what you want to be at work and who you want to be at home.

At some point, it even comes naturally and you don't even have to choose.

Impeding beliefs and work

As mentioned, you may want to have a different role in certain areas of your life. It is then important to pull off that coat of limiting beliefs.

For example, if you want to be seen as a leader at work, it's important that you can recognize that you have limiting beliefs and that you have the tools to face them and get rid of them so you can move forward.

Indeed, obstructive beliefs can also hinder development at work and even on your team (if you are already in a leadership position).

If you think you need to do something a certain way, you can ask yourself the following questions to see if you are holding yourself back:

  • Is this the only way to go?
  • How can I make this work?
  • What do I currently believe to be the truth about the situation or a person and have I done anything to verify it?
  • What if it's not true (or not the only truth)?
  • If I don't have an answer or can't find a way, who can?
  • If my decision didn't affect others, what would I do?
  • What is the worst, best and most likely thing to happen?
  • What is my role in this situation?
  • Which person do I want to be in this situation?
  • What step can I take to begin or adjust the process?
  • What am I afraid of? Where are the opportunities?
  • How can I have fun with this?
  • Who can I ask for support and co-responsibility?[1]

Whether or not you are in a leadership role, these questions can help you at work. Do you feel like you just don't know the answers? Then you can also figure this out with a hypnosis therapist. Who will help you make the thought process of answering these questions easier.

Research also shows that when women undertake they are more likely to suffer, or at least talk about, limiting beliefs than men (this does not mean that men do not have them).

It also appears that men are more likely to attend seminars or enroll in courses as a result, for example. In fact, they have fewer excuses for themselves, fewer barriers, for not doing it[2].

Impeding beliefs and your love life

Your personal story is often about your love life, about finding a partner and having a happy relationship. Of course, friends also play a role, but for many people, finding a partner and having a family is the absolute priority in personal life.

When you have healthy beliefs about relationships it often causes you to have fewer partners (at least that you have sex with) and when you deepen a relationship you do so only after a longer period of time than people who have limiting beliefs about relationships and sex.

Do you have limiting beliefs, such as that you can only get a partner if you have sex with him or her directly, do you have fears about being able to hold on to a relationship, or are you afraid of rejection and therefore avoid the opposite sex? Then you often have multiple sexual partners and deepen the relationship faster than if you have healthy beliefs[3].

So for a nice stable relationship and finding a partner who appreciates you for who you are, it is helpful to have beliefs that make you feel confident. You are worth something and in return you may be worthy of someone.

Impeding beliefs and hypnotherapy

With the technique "reimprinting" (reprinting), limiting beliefs about yourself can be changed. This can help you in both your personal and business life. This technique was developed by Robert Dilts and uses techniques from Ericksonian hypnotherapy and neuro linguistic programming (NLP).

Research shows that this technique helps address problems you encounter over and over again in your life. Patterns that keep repeating and where you can't put your finger on why can be changed with this hypnosis technique, allowing you to change your limiting beliefs about yourself and how you function in the world so that they no longer hinder you[4].
