Outsourcing work: how to do it confidently
As a business owner (and also just at home as a private individual), you can have lots of jobs that you don't actually do well. Accounting, for example, is a task that many entrepreneurs outsource. Marketing is also something entrepreneurs often outsource, and if you have staff, even HR (human resources) is sometimes outsourced.
In your home, cleaning is often outsourced and there are even companies that iron your clothes. Super convenient!
But what if you're really busy. You know you should actually start outsourcing something, but something is holding you back? Where does this come from and what can you do about it.
Outsource work as an entrepreneur
Many entrepreneurs who find it difficult to outsource work do so because they harbor the belief that only they can do the work that needs to be done well—or even perfectly. Leaving the work to other people is bound to go wrong.
This is fear, but it’s also a lack of trust in others. For example, you might think they’ll run off with your personal information.
This, of course, is a recipe for very long days,-because if you have to maintain both your website, and your marketing, and your accounting, and then also the work with which you earn your money, before you know it you are working more than twelve hours a day. Especially if your business is successful and you have to process a lot of transactions in your accounting.
Another belief you can block as a business is that outsourcing work is too expensive. If it is literally unaffordable, then so be it. But if you can afford it per se, then there may be something else going on. Like the unconscious idea that you're not worth that extra free time or that investment in more freedom.
These are two beliefs that can lead to you, as an entrepreneur, becoming too busy. It’s also a real shame, because research shows that if you, as an entrepreneur, outsource your work effectively, it often results in you being better off financially[1].
In addition, outsourcing can also allow you to better develop new services or products because you simply have more time and are more connected to other people/businesses/entrepreneurs who can help you with that than if you do everything all by yourself[2].
In the process, you often get a better bargaining position on outsourcing work when your business is bigger. So sometimes you need to outsource expensively at first to be able to outsource relatively cheaply later (source 2).
So plenty of benefits are associated with outsourcing work to remove the roadblocks holding you back as a business owner from doing so.
These may include fears, perfectionism and lack of trust in others.
Hypnosis to outsource work
As a hypnotist, you can help business owners outsource work by identifying the unconscious beliefs that prevent them from handing over certain tasks to another person.
For example, regression can be used to find out if there have been events in the entrepreneur's life that have created a belief that he/she must do everything themselves. That asking for help is bad or even a sign of weakness.
That's not at all convenient.
With regression , a hypnotherapist helps you go back in your mind to the first moment when you felt you couldn't let go of certain tasks. This may even be a moment in your childhood. For example, perhaps you experienced too many times with group projects at school when classmates did not follow through on agreements made, causing your grade to be lower than it should have been.
These kinds of memories can hold you back for the rest of your life, because you never consciously address that memory.
With hypnosis, for example, the therapist can help a business owner empathize with other people who were there at the time. For example, why wouldn't a classmate do something?
In addition, a hypnotherapist can also make you aware that the situation is totally different now. For example, your classmate didn't get paid for work, but count on the fact that when bills need to be paid, people really do perform the work they are supposed to perform and do their best for it.
This then helps you to trust people again and that other people can perform tasks as accurately as you can (and in the case of accounting, perhaps even more accurately).
If, as a business owner, you specifically find outsourcing work too expensive, but you can actually afford it, self-esteem can be an issue.
Even in this case, a hypnotherapist can help an entrepreneur. Baggage from the past that has caused too low a self-esteem to be able to outsource work, for example, can be removed. This can be done by working with the inner child in intense cases.
In less severe cases, there are other ways to work on increasing self-esteem and self-confidence. This can be done, for example, through guided visualizations and by teaching the entrepreneur self-hypnosis.
As a business owner, you can then apply self-hypnosis daily with the guided visualization and often repeating hypnotic suggestions such as:
"I am worth it."
"I get to make time for myself."
"I allow myself to have a nice life."
"I give myself peace of mind."
"Other people can perform tasks as well," he said.
These are just examples. Depending on the business owner's self-esteem issues, a hypnotherapist may come up with other suggestions that can be used at home with self-hypnosis.
Break the behavioral pattern of doing everything yourself
You may also have a behavioral pattern where you automatically assume you have to do every task that comes your way on your own. Asking for help can be difficult.
A hypnotherapist can also help you become aware of these types of thought and behavior patterns after which this pattern can be changed.
For example, you can play certain patterns in a video for yourself and then cut and change this video so that your brain no longer finds the behavioral pattern logical.
Then, with post-hypnotic suggestion, a new pattern of behavior can be encouraged or even installed.
This suggestion does not say anything about what happens during hypnotherapy, but after hypnotherapy. For example, this could be the following suggestion:
"You will find over time that you like the fact that there are tasks you can outsource. That you enjoy more of your free time and the extra time you can spend on tasks in your business that you actually enjoy doing yourself. You will find that this feels good and that you enjoy outsourcing tasks you don't like to other people."
This is just one example, depending on a business owner's problems with outsourcing, a different suggestion may be devised by the hypnotherapist.
Outsource work in your home
At home, too, it can sometimes be nice to outsource work. Cleaning, a babysitter, walking the dog, ironing clothes, maintaining your garden; there are all kinds of home chores you can hire people for.
Even business owners can benefit if they prefer not to outsource work for their business.
But even if you are just employed, outsourcing cleaning can allow you to spend more time with your family and friends, for example. You can work farther away if you don't have to go home at lunch to walk the dog.
So here, too, outsourcing work can give you more freedom and more opportunities to make your life more enjoyable.
Again, if you can afford it, you want it, but you find it too expensive, that's where there is a mental block. Choosing for yourself is then something a hypnotherapist can help you with.
For example, you may have a particular goal about how you want your life to be, but not know how to get there. With progression, a hypnotherapist can then help people make a good plan for this.
This plan can certainly include outsourcing tasks that are blocking you from achieving your goals. If it involves cleaning the kitchen and bathroom on the weekend, which blocks you from having a fun day with energy with your family, this is worth it.
Outsourcing work requires trust in other people. It doesn't matter if it's for your business or just household chores. Hypnosis can help you regain confidence in other people and in yourself to find good powers that can help you.
