Money mindset: the mindset for the logical consequence of more money

Come out of the hypnosis of money money money, or money money!

The money mindset. A popular term. Personally, I find it a bit of a cringey term. It gives me a very strange feeling inside. The money mindset. I think it’s a strange term, but anyway, it’s about three things, namely:

  1. Money
  2. Mind
  3. Set

So money first. That's kind of interesting when you look at money, making money. Then you have the twenty percent strategy.

How do you think you should make money?

The simplest way is time for money. You go to work and get paid a certain amount per hour, and after working eight hours, you’ve earned that amount of money for your time. This is, for example, what you get when you’re hired. You’re primarily paid for the time you spend there.

If you are employed for forty hours you get paid for forty hours, no matter what you do. It may be a little less black and white than that, but no matter how fanatical you are in those forty hours, you get paid the same.

What is interesting, though, is that time cannot be bought. Perhaps your health can .

There are more strategies than time for money.

  • You can also invest money.
  • You can develop a product and sell it.
  • You can work for someone on a commission basis.

There are lots of ways to make money. Then you get more the story of value. You can do a lot in an hour and then you're free beyond that, but how valuable is it in that hour?

You can also create and sell an online course.

But imagine you've been working for a month, forty hours a week. So you've spent two hundred hours on it for convenience. That's about five full work weeks.

Imagine being hired or employed by someone? Then you get two thousand to four thousand euros net for that. Gross, you might earn more.

But if you have worked those two hundred hours and all you have is a program, you have nothing else. You haven't had any money for those two hundred hours. You have yet to see that. You still have to sell those.

In your mind, that can be quite risky.

But if you sell it for a hundred dollars and forty people buy it, you have earned the same as if you had been paid for your time.

Imagine that's automatic and you sell a hundred of them or a thousand, suddenly you have a lot more money, but still for those two hundred hours. Then at some point you can have made such a product for a thousand euros an hour.

80/20 rule with money

When you start converting that, it's very interesting. That's strategy. But strategy is only 20 percent.

Tony Robbins once said:

"Money is 20% strategy and 80% psychology."

80% psychology, the relationship you have with money. And that's fascinating! Because so for that 20% you can do everything right, and have a good idea with a good execution of the product while not getting it sold. Then it could certainly be because of that 80% because of course that's the biggest part. 80% is your relationship with money, your psychology about money.

What do you think about money in general?

You are not taught that in school, but that is strategy and ultimately this is only twenty percent. The other eighty percent is psychology. The relationship you have with money.

That's fascinating. You can do everything right for your idea for that 20 percent. But then if it doesn't work out, it could be because of that eighty percent.

If you're unsure of your relationship with money, it's simple to find out. All you have to do is say:

"Money is...(and then everything behind it in your mind)."

That's your relationship.

So for example:

"Money is the evil of the world."

Imagine if things were bad or if you thought things would be better if there were no money, do you think there would be a lot of money around?

Many people who don't have money say these things.

People who have money don't say this.

There's something very interesting in that. Because if you link it to a person, imagine that money is your loved one or child or whatever, and you say to your loved one, "You are the evil of the world. You are evil."

How does that make you feel? Then your partner won't stay with you, right?

That feels very tedious.

So if you feel this way about money, it doesn't get to you either. A person you act like that to, that runs away as fast as possible. He would rather run to a drug dealer. He likes money.

But when you do love someone, they stay with you. Just like money. Then what you do with it next is again up to you.

Money has no morals, which is important to recognize. Because if money had a morality, the welfare mother would get much more and the drug cartel boss would get nothing.

This also has to do with twenty percent strategy. Those cartels are selling a product that is good to sell, but it is also psychology. They love money. They think money is fantastic.

That's interesting. How you think about money.

Then we also come to your mindset. Because eighty percent psychology is the mind. That English word is difficult to translate into Dutch. You can say consciousness or mind, but that doesn't cover mind. That's why I use mind.

The mind has a set.

How important is money to you?

But what is that set? I see a set as value, what you value.

Maybe you think money is important, but it is in the fifty of importance and not in the top five. Now money does not have to be in the top five, but it certainly may be in the top ten if you want to see more of it in your life.

So that's the value of importance.

Than what you believe about money.

"Money is and then" ... or "I find money" ... or what you've heard from people. That's where a lot comes from, too.

What experience do you have with money?

Then the third experience.

How did your parents handle money? What was said about money? Like money doesn't grow on my back. It's all very expensive. I had to work hard for my money. I thought that was very normal and then if I wanted more money I had to work overtime.

But I didn't think money was that important so I worked less overtime than people around me.

But I did get that from my parents. That hard work is important.

So when I started my own business, my strategy was that I’d get paid for my work. Because that’s what I believed about money. I didn’t trust people who got money for no reason without working hard for it. I thought that wasn’t possible, or that they must have obtained it through underhanded means. But all of this was subconscious. That’s just how I thought.

But that very "habitual thinking" is your mindset. In this case, the money mindset. Your mindset about money.

I had many ideas and beliefs about that. My relationship and experiences with money. This was my hypnosis about money. Money is just money.

You can say about it that it is energy, a medium of exchange; to me, money is just money.

Everything you stick to it has consequences in your relationship, so stick something good to it.

Money, for example, is a great tool for doing great things. That's already better than being evil of the world.

I was in business for years below welfare and then the taxes were yet to come.

My strategy was to just work harder. I worked so hard that I was never there for my family, but I didn’t end up making that much more money.

I was my own boss, and so you don't necessarily get paid when you're there like in salaried employment. So I was working a hundred hours, but I didn't get paid much more than with forty hours. And this was because of my relationship with money.

Changing relationship with money with hypnosis

I realized I needed to make some changes—like delivering more value . So that’s what I started doing more and more.

But that relationship didn't change. But I went into hypnosis for a while I closed my eyes and then suddenly I had an experience in my mind, which was part of that mindset, of my uncle telling me that I was not an entrepreneur and never would be.

Well, then I get recalcitrant and want to prove that I can. That's that rebellious in me.

But what are you going to prove if you don't know how?

I changed that belief within myself. I used hypnosis to transform the belief that I wasn’t an entrepreneur into the belief that I am an entrepreneur. This, in turn, has all kinds of effects on the opportunities you take. Changing your mindset can lead you to take more risks, but it can also lead to greater profits[1].

In doing so, it is also important to see yourself as an entrepreneur to also exhibit entrepreneurial behavior[2].

The following year, I went times three with my sales. I was making about 1,200 euros a month net, so you can't save that then. I was also living with my in-laws at the time. The following year I suddenly earned almost a hundred thousand euros.

So changing that mindset apparently had leverage as well. I sat on that hundred thousand for a while, too, but more leverage has since come, which has helped me grow even further.

But you have to explore what that leverage is every time.

Usually this is a conflict. For example, I went into entrepreneurship, but I didn't think I was an entrepreneur and so unconsciously I had a conflict and then you struggle and things don't work out. Almost with all the consequences.

Until I discovered it and was able to resolve the conflict.

There is also the course I just created for this purpose. For the unconscious conflict and to resolve it. Usually at the HIN we work with conscious conflict.

But if you now feel that the results in your life are not what you want and that you want more of something, it may be an unconscious conflict.
