You often get what you don't expect, but what is exactly right for you
The other day I was at a paranormal fair. It was fascinating and what a lot of people attend. It was crowded, but fun. I was with my father-in-law. He does finger reflexology. And one of his teachers was standing there with a stall, and he wanted to support her for a while. I said, "I want to come along.
Reading
I wanted to go there because it had been years since I had been there. It was completely full of booths and dings. I bought some incense and some big stones. Super cool. Also Chakra candles, which I can light while meditating. All in all, it was a fun day. I did all kinds of things. I thought I'd also do a reading with someone. That's usually tricky, though. See, the "best" ones are always taken right away. Then you have to draw numbers and stand in line. So I thought, well, I'll go to Gerard Heutink. That's a well-known psychic. I drew number 60, and number 55 was up. I went a few laps, and then number 55 was still on. At one point it was number 56's turn, and then I thought, I'll go get a reading from someone else.
So I went to see an Indian man, and he first looked at my date of birth. Then he read my palm, and after that he performed a kind of spiritual healing. It was good. Whatever you think of it… I have my own opinions about things, too. I’d first had an aura photo taken, and that man started explaining it, and then I thought: With all due respect, that doesn’t make any sense. But anyway, there were a few things that made me think, “Okay, tell me more about that.” You have to imagine: I’m also in a field that involves influencing people— hypnosis, mentalism. I know people who are really good mentalists. They can read you—really—it’ll bring tears to your eyes. They know everything about you. And that’s just a trick. I know those kinds of tricks, too—like figuring out someone’s PIN, that sort of thing. You have no idea how that works—I’m not going to explain it now—but I do know how it works. So with that knowledge, you end up listening differently. Then I think, “Oh my god, that’s not entirely true.” But okay, fine.
Spirituality
But this guy, yeah that was something though.... You have to look at it this way - I started in spirituality. That sounds a little crazy but if we talk about the spiritual body, emotional body, mental body and physical body. Then I actually started in the spiritual body, then emotional - mental body, then physical: crossfit, eating, sleeping - and now I went all the way back to "the beginning. It's all related, one is not separate from the other, of course. But yesterday I did notice 'Oh, man I did miss this'. I'm already quite clairsentient, but usually I don't work with that so much. Now it was really suddenly opened up.
This interesting man said all sorts of interesting things. Of course, you have a lot of chaff in the wheat. But he was "pure" and top notch! The thing is, as a recipient, you obviously have to open yourself up. It is actually the same with hypnosis. We always say: you have a transmitter and a receiver. That transmitter can be hearty. Imagine: I am a radio transmitter, and I am sending a signal. If you are not on the right frequency, you will not receive that signal. Then I can send whatever I want, but you won't receive anything at all. So we have to kind of connect somewhere first for anything to happen. That happened with that man and that was top notch.
So I had undergone that healing and I was still thinking as I walked away, Yes this is what I used to undergo - 20 years back - really quite often and also performed. What I was doing a lot. I never really do that anymore. Then I thought: Oh yes, that's fascinating that I was thrown back into that. I do have completely different baggage, but that makes sense. I am a bit older, I have experienced all kinds of things. That's fine. I thought: shall I go back to the first guy to go deeper? But then, of course, number 60 had already passed. Of course. Because apparently it was no longer necessary, I had already heard from the other man.
Of course, you’re curious about what I heard from that man, aren’t you? I don’t have to tell you everything, but basically it came down to this:—and he did have a point there—that I worry about things quite often. Consciously and unconsciously, I do worry quite a bit. That also wears me out. That’s what he was talking about, and I thought: Yeah, that guy has a point. And he said, “There’s absolutely nothing to worry about.” Then I thought: Yeah, he has a point there, too. I suspect it’s still an old habit . That might be interesting for you, too—it certainly was for me—that sometimes you’re still doing things even though they’re no longer necessary at all.
Where does your problem come from?
For example: I worry about certain things, often unconsciously... Where does that come from? When I just started my business, for example, it was really stressful. I wasn't actually making ends meet, and with that I was still going to work a little bit and get paid "so". Then I would go and help cut trees, or work in the garden. I did anything I could get my hands on. For maybe €100 a day or €150 a day. Working all day from early in the morning until sometimes really late in the afternoon or early evening. I thought that was great at the time, then I had some money again. That was hard work but I am fine with hard work, I have no problem with that. But anyway, that was really struggling and then having clients in your business as well.... Suddenly I got that realization. - The man said, But it's all going well now, isn't it? What are you worried about? I thought, Yeah, what am I really worried about? That was an interesting realization.
Now you might be thinking, “Couldn’t you have figured that out sooner?” Yes, of course, but sometimes you just need people—me included—who point out the obvious. They just say, “Hey, didn’t you see that sign? The one right in front of you that says ‘STOP’?” Uhhh, no. I’d just missed that one. Something like that. And that was really funny. So after that, he did another session, and I felt all the tension melt away. Mainly in my shoulders. It made me feel completely queasy; I thought, “Man, stop.” But that’s exactly it, isn’t it? All that tension that really doesn’t need to be there at all. It’s all subconscious control, and then you look around at your life and think: it’s actually completely unnecessary. Anyway, that’s what happens when you’ve, for example, experienced a traumatic event. Maybe you recognize this—you’ve been through something, maybe years ago. A turbulent relationship, for instance, with your friends, your parents, or your children. You’ve been through something really intense. Life has already moved on. Your children, for example, are doing well. So, yeah, you don’t really stop to think, “Gee, do I still need to process that?” Because you look around and everything is fine. Why would I need to process it?
Complaints caused by unconscious problems
But subconsciously, there’s still something there: “Yeah, well, things are going well, but….” Something like that. And that can cause all sorts of issues. For me, this was anxiety—a deep fear that it could all just be over, that it could all go wrong. Even though I know—I really do know—it doesn’t make any sense. Because imagine: everything goes wrong. Big deal. Then I’ll just do something else. I know that. That’s rational, right? I know that consciously; I look around me: everything’s fine. But subconsciously, phew. And that man who touched on that—he saw right through it. He said, “That’s it.” He saw it in my hand, too. And I think: that man has a point.
Yes, and the great thing - in my case - is that I know all those techniques and can therefore do something with them. The man was treating me. I thought: nice, I should do this more often, this kind of thing. Spiritual guidance. I have a very good personal trainer, physically. On an emotional/mental level, I can do most of it myself. But anyway, you always have blind spots. I actually need a spiritual leader. A mentor or coach. So that's what I'm looking for now, well looking, it comes naturally. Because I think yes: those sides may be balanced, of course. That was maybe the biggest realization of yesterday, and yet something deep resolved. So that was actually pretty cool from such a fellowship, which I didn't necessarily expect. But yes, you get what you get and not necessarily what you expect. And sometimes that matches, but sometimes you get things you don't expect. But then in retrospect, that's often the best part.
