Become a hypnosis practitioner with a successful hypnosis practice
Becoming a hypnosis practitioner is something that is a turning point in many people's lives. It is their2nd career for many people, having experienced the power of hypnosis themselves and wanting to share it with others.
In this article, we take a closer look at becoming a hypnosis practitioner and what it takes to make this a success.
Step 1: Learning Hypnosis
Undergoing hypnotherapy once mainly allows you to experience what hypnosis can do for people, but you still won’t know why it works.
By learning how hypnosis and hypnotherapy work at the Hypnosis Institute of the Netherlands, you’ll understand exactly what the hypnotherapist did to help you achieve a transformation.
In fact, hypnosis by itself does not do much more than help people relax very deeply and be open to suggestions.
But as a hypnosis practitioner, it’s important that those suggestions are sound and truly help people prevent and overcome problems.
That’s why it’s a good idea to take the training course , so you’ll understand why certain suggestions are given and how they affect physical or mental symptoms (or both).
Step 2: Successfully complete training courses
It is important to take all of our training courses before you can call yourself a hypnosis practitioner.
To do this successfully, it is important to practice the techniques you learn in addition to taking the classes. Ask family and friends or other acquaintances if you can try the techniques on them.
If you do well, you will find that friends and acquaintances of your friends and family will also come to you with problems they want solved.
If you are not doing well, you will notice and can then explore in classes and with fellow students where you went wrong.
Step 3: Starting at home
While you're still practicing on family and friends, you've also found that you can very well start being a hypnosis practitioner in your own home or as a guest with people.
It can sometimes take a while before you have a steady stream of appointments and sessions. It’s best to wait to rent and set up a practice space until you’re certain you’ll have enough clients.
Step 4: Ask for Reviews
One way to circle enough clients for this is to make your business visible, especially the good results you achieve.
If you help people, even if it's just because you're practicing the techniques of the training, always ask for a review.
This can even be a simple whatsapp exchange with the question (or questions):
- What did you think?
- What has this done for you?
- What change in your life has caused this?
If the answer to these questions is good and provides insight for improvement, you can ask people if you can use the answer as a review. You can possibly make those anonymous, which often depends on the issue you helped someone with.
Step 5: Making yourself visible with your website
There are several ways you can then build your visibility as a hypnosis practitioner.
It is common to have a website. Meanwhile, 1-page websites are also very popular for small service providers. Your website then basically has only 1 home page.
This is the minimum that is useful, though.
It is more common to have a website with multiple Web pages, where you talk more about what you care about and the problems you help people with. Often a tool is also put in there so people can schedule appointments, but a simple contact page can also do a lot for a hypnosis practitioner.
Those reviews you've posted, you also want them visible all over your website. After all, those are arguments for people to go to you when they have a problem that you can solve.
Step 6: Making yourself visible on social media
Having a website doesn’t automatically bring in clients. That’s why it’s also important to build your visibility on social media as a hypnosis practitioner. There are several platforms that may be of interest for this purpose, namely:
- YouTube
YouTube is in this list because YouTube now has more accounts than Facebook in the Netherlands. However, daily usage is millions lower on YouTube than on Facebook.
By posting regular posts and videos on these platforms about what you do, how it's done, and inspiring people with hope and a life without the pain of the problem, your visibility can lead to clients.
You also regularly showcase the reviews you've collected on these channels. You may even repeat a review multiple times, because not everyone sees your post every time.
Step 7: Find practice space
If the reviews, word of mouth and your visibility provide a steady stream of clients and perhaps even a waiting list (even though we would prefer not to have one, of course). Then it may also be interesting to have a practice space.
A place where you are not going to be disturbed by your housemates (partner and children) anyway. A place that you can set up optimally to make hypnotherapy possible.
That way, you’ll feel even more like a hypnosis practitioner. Walking into the space at the start of the day gives you the mindset to be the best therapist you can be that day.
Step 8: Get reimbursement from health insurance company
To get reimbursed for your sessions, it is important for health insurance companies that you are affiliated with a professional association and do a 1-day course, so you can clearly notice if someone still needs to see a doctor or psychiatrist for the problems. You can take this course only after you have taken the 3.0 training with us.
We have connections to point you in the right direction for this; ask about this during training.
Please note that the fee is often lower than you charge as a fee for your session. Because of this, clients often only get back a portion of the money they invested in you.
Breaking down barriers
To become a successful hypnosis practitioner, it may be necessary to overcome obstacles. As mentioned, this is often a second career for people.
Learning a trade again can allow old fears to surface, such as the fear of:
- Exams
- Not being good enough
- Not having enough money
- Not having enough time
- Not belonging
Depending on your life story, you may even have a very unique fear. The great thing is that during your training at Hypnosis Institute Netherlands, you get to work directly with the techniques.
You also practice with other trainees, allowing you to address these types of problems directly.
Doesn't this seem like anything to you? Then before taking the training, visit a hypnosis practitioner to allay your fears of self-development and of changing and transforming your life.
Fund training
Training at the HIN is not free. For some people, funding the other parts after the first part of the training seems like an impossibility.
However, for practicing hypnotherapy, you can already charge a small fee. After all, you are helping people move forward.
In addition, government grants can often be arranged to encourage "lifelong learning." See if there are any pots in your community that you can use to pay for training.
Also, you don't have to take the training parts all at once in succession (is more convenient, though), but by taking the time each year to save up for the next part, you can still become a hypnosis practitioner.
It is also possible to pay for the training in installments, making it easier for you to join the training.
