From the safety of theory to personal growth in practice.

How Jutta Hartkoorn became the Angel of Lights through the Hypnosis Institute Netherlands

An exercise in the Hypnosis Institute of the Netherlands’ latest training program led to her practice being named De Lichtengel. It represents a part of Jutta Hartkoorn that, through the sharing exercise, is allowed to come more to the forefront and shed more light on the world and its people.

And so now she does this with her own practice, specifically for mothers. "When a mother changes something in herself, it changes for the children with her, without the child having to go to therapy," she says.

In her practice, she primarily helps entrepreneurial mothers who feel that things are “stuck” at home or that something is holding them back in their business: visibility, daring to make choices, thinking bigger. Sometimes they initially come to her with a “problem” involving a child. Jutta respectfully turns the lens around: where is the seed within you? This approach yields remarkably rapid shifts—in peace of mind, in relationships, and in results.

That systemic view is not a separate method, but a way of working that Jutta connects with hypnotherapy, NLP, constellations and practical coaching. She often chooses hypnosis as her preferred route, because deep relaxation is healing in itself:

“Especially when someone experiencing stress can still relax right in the midst of the problem, you notice that space opens up for solutions.”

And if hypnosis isn’t the best approach, she switches—without judgment—to other methods, such as floor anchors, social panorama, or a brief coaching intervention. It always comes down to one thing: doing what works right now.

But this work is certainly not what she used to do.

Factual knowledge and impact on the body and health

Jutta studied chemistry, majoring in biochemistry. The human system, how we work, heal and change, fascinated her early on. Professionally, she started in the pharmaceutical industry as a project manager for vaccine development, for example.

She led cross-functional teams, monitored planning, budget and reporting, and brought together the many components of product development. She later supervised the start-up of large grant projects at the European level: not as a substantive researcher, but as an organizer and "co-regulator" who makes complex puzzles fall smoothly.

That career offered her edginess, structure and results orientation. But somewhere a question kept ticking: could it be closer? Not just improve systems, but people inside. The transition came step by step and accelerated when she first encountered hypnosis during her NLP master's degree.

The introduction to hypnosis

Her first encounter with hypnosis was a bit of a struggle. Online, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Jutta had a hard time getting the hang of the familiar linguistic rhythm of indirect hypnosis ( “fact, fact, fact, suggestion”).

Until she started doing it. Then it turned out: it may be rattling in the head, but in practice something right rolls out. The combination of focus and relaxation showed her that more is possible.

While exploring this path, she came across the Hypnosis Institute of the Netherlands (HIN). A video by Edwin Selij about the kinesthetic timeline—her favorite NLP technique involving notes on the floor, but performed under hypnosis—struck a chord. “I want to be able to do this,” she thought. Without knowing that this technique wouldn’t reappear until version 2.0, she enrolled in HIN 1.0.

The training: practice, puzzle pieces and a solid foundation

The first training (hypno principles) gave foundation: careful language, safety, hypnosis coaching, an initial repertoire of techniques. The second training (hypno playground) followed shortly after, with more depth and regression skills.

It was precisely the amount of practice that made the difference. Not only did she learn to apply methods, she also noticed how to resolve her own themes.

She now calls those practice evenings "the biggest value-add:" "You get SO many flight hours. If you take that time, you accelerate everything." The puzzle pieces from previous trainings fell into place.

Hypno pathfinder to find her own path

The first two trainings lay a good foundation and Jutta could practice a lot with that, but in the last training her own unique value emerged. Two components of the training were key to this.

  1. Parts Work: meeting, understanding and repositioning internal parts.
  2. Self-image session: who were you, who are you now, who do you want to be?

During one such practice moment with sharing work, a surprising answer came to a subconscious part of her asking "What can I call you?" The Angel of Lights.

The “light” part that wanted to change became a guiding inner image. In the self-image session, that archetype took root: the old self-image was allowed to rest, and the new self-image (light, connecting, dignified) was integrated.

Later, at a seminar, the business idea clicked: “De Lichtengel” became the name of her practice.

The most recent training course also brought something else: professional self-confidence. In feedback on an exam video (featuring a powerful, outspoken client), the invitation was to “push through with power” in order to stand in her own power as well.

Jutta intuitively chose a detour: softer, strategic, yet effective. The trainers' message: you do it differently and it works. For her, that gave a sense of legitimacy to her own style: curious, finely tuned, firm when necessary, soft where possible.

Techniques that stick: from floor anchors to magic mirror

Those who speak to Jutta hear how all-encompassing she works. The following are her favorite techniques:

  • Regression in hypnosis: going back to the first event, expressing what was needed there, feeling forgiveness, and then changing all the way to the now.
  • Parts Work: Exploring and using the parts within yourself to achieve your goals.
  • Floor anchors (NLP): for clients who have low visual thinking or remain visually "blank." By physically marking positions, feeling and choosing comes into play.
  • Social panorama and constellations: spatially positioning and rearranging relationships (with individuals, with parts, even with parts of a company).
  • Magic mirror and future pace: seeing who you are now (worthy, okay, complete), as well as seeing yourself acting from the future.

Why the HIN? Practice, quality and space for your views

Jutta is outspoken about the quality of the training. The readers are in order, the structure is clear, the didactics solid. "It is more expensive than an average NLP training, but you really get a lot in return, ás long as you invest the time in practicing and making the techniques your own."

She particularly highlights the practice evenings as a distinguishing feature. She also appreciates that within the HIN, faith, the universe, and the source are allowed to coexist. No belief is imposed. There is room to connect personal meaning with professional expertise.

Medical and Psychosocial Basic Knowledge: bridge to mainstream care

About the same time as the last training, Jutta completed both Basic Medical Knowledge and Basic Psychosocial Knowledge.

Not the most "fun" stuff, she says, but indispensable: "People also come in with panic or anxiety disorders. Then it's nice to understand how mainstream care looks and what skills someone has already practiced."

That connection helps her zero in precisely: sometimes the problem isn’t about skills but lies at the level of identity—in what someone believes deep down about themselves. That’s when hypnosis acts as a lever to bring about change.

Moreover, these certifications allow her to work under alternative care (partially) reimbursable. And, equally important: she commits to peer review and continuing education within a multidisciplinary team (including psychologists, dietician).

What it brought her personally

Hypnosis gave Jutta more than just techniques. It gave her the deep realization that “I’m okay; I’m worth it.” Through regressions, she learned to hear the voice of the child within herself and to take it seriously.

In the magic mirror, she saw who she wanted and was allowed to be. The "Angel of Light" thus became not only a company name, but a compass: bringing light between the higher and the human, without imposing, guiding, inviting, serving.

Understanding is not therapy; it enhances autonomy and independence: those who understand what is happening dare to take responsibility for change—such as her decision to make her own practice official.

The Angel of Lights today: practice, network and growth

The Angel of Lights is now more than an idea on paper.

Jutta’s clients are often entrepreneurial mothers who find that their business and family life mirror each other. Between Zoom meetings, their bodies tense up, or there’s friction at home surrounding boundaries, perfectionism, visibility, or patterns of loyalty.

In sessions, she helps women quiet the nervous system and go back to the moment when a feeling associated with a problem arose. Then to do something in that moment.

Other techniques are also used, such as sharing work which has brought her much and anchoring positive change.

The effect is often seen in two parts of life at once: peace at home and space in the business. Mothers who previously played small are taking visible steps. Children need to mirror less "contrarian" and partners find that conversations become lighter.
