This blog is for people interested in spiritual hypnosis. In fact, there are spiritual guides that help you get your life on the path that is meant for you. Spiritual guides are also called angels by some people.
Believing or being convinced that spiritual guides exist is actually already a form of spirituality.
And this can start very young.
Spiritual guides in your childhood
Indeed, children are already aware that there is something more than just the body and the environment you are in. And navigating that can already be a daunting task. So what is fantasy and what is real?
Research shows that children need to be able to talk about Angels, spiritual guides and everything that cannot actually be seen with the naked eye. This is because children also learn that the inner life, their feelings and thoughts, are connected to larger matters of life and on the environment around them.
Actually, this is quite complicated, and so some form of spirituality can give children a handle on how to grasp it all properly and develop their intuition[1].
Spiritual guides, a Western phenomenon?
Spiritual guides are also very popular to talk about in the Western world. Even Martha Louise, Princess of Norway, has an "Angel healing school" and wants obstacles to the Lutheran faith to at least be discussed[2].
German research also shows that many people believe in guardian angels or spiritual guides when suffering from a chronic illness. Even if you are not religious, there is still a 38% chance that you believe in guardian angels[3].
This does show that even if you are not religious, you still sense that there is "more."
Spiritual guides and near-death experiences
Research also shows that people with near-death experiences sometimes make contact with someone (or something) they have never seen before. These serve as guides, messengers or someone who shows them the way[4]. Consider, for example, the way back to life.
Spiritual guides at the end of life
Spiritual guides or angels are seen as encouraging souls whose purpose is to guide us through difficult times in life. In hospice care , many people use the belief in spiritual guides because it gives them a form of comfort.
In many traditional religions, angels are seen as an extension of God's consciousness. A spiritual guide can come to a person in many forms.
For people working in hospice, it is important to go along with what people believe. Especially since this can give them comfort in this final stage of life, although spiritual guides can be important in other stages of life as well.
A spiritual guide does not even have to be something from someone's imagination, but can be a person important in the life of someone who needs it at that moment. Hospice nurses may note that if their clients trust them completely, they can be seen as a spiritual guide. This often requires a special connection with the client, allowing you to connect well with the client's consciousness[5].
So it's not that everyone who dies is going to see hospice nurses as a spiritual guide; as mentioned, a spiritual guide can appear in many forms.
Meditation and self-hypnosis for contact
Research also shows that for people who are in the final stages of their lives, meditation combined with massages (or interspersed with them) are pleasant to experience more spirituality and a better quality of life[6].
In fact, meditating can provide all sorts of interesting insights, and this certainly doesn't always have to come from within yourself for you to feel.
A study of people who received mental health care because of a failed suicide attempt (if you have thoughts about this, call 113) found that meditation and a guided meditation can help people gain deeper insights about themselves as well as insights from an outside source (such as a spiritual guide)[7].
Guided visualization is also something many hypnotherapists help with during self-hypnosis. During hypnosis, things often happen that are consistent with the client's beliefs, but it may happen that something happens that is not consistent with them. You could think of this as making contact with an external source, such as your spiritual guide, who is trying to make something clear to you and which can have a healing effect[8].
Interestingly, when you meditate to get more in touch with spirituality, it causes you to suffer less from anxiety, have a better mood and even resist pain better[9].
Spiritual guide recognize
For people of faith, religious figures or examples, such as Jesus, can be seen as guides. Parts from the holy books can be used as guides for life.
But as mentioned, many people who are not religious may also feel that there is a spiritual guide to help them during difficult times. That one is a little less easy to pinpoint than coming from Jesus or Mary.
As mentioned above, during meditation or hypnosis, you may notice insights where you feel this is not coming from yourself. You can think of this as contact with your spiritual guide. If you really feel "this is not from me," that is also a time to recognize that you are in contact with your spiritual guide.
Submit questions to your guide
In hypnotherapy, we often find ourselves performing techniques where clients engage in conversation with someone who is not present at the time. For example, consider the inner child 's conversation with one of the deceased parents when something needs to be resolved there.
This can actually be used in the same way when someone in hypnosis finds that they make contact with the spiritual guide. If you have a little more experience with hypnosis, you can also initiate this conversation yourself during self-hypnosis.
In any case, a hypnotherapist helps you ask questions and open yourself up to the answers you receive from your spiritual guide.
In the preliminary consultation, you can already indicate to your hypnotherapist that you would like to make contact with your spiritual guide and what problem you would like to discuss with it. This helps the hypnotherapist to give the right suggestions and think along with how you react to the reactions you get from your spiritual guide.
A hypnotherapist can also help you interpret vague answers. Symbols often play a role in hypnotherapy, and working with them can come in handy during the conversation with your spiritual guide.
