Reiki what exactly is it and what can you do with it?

November 08, 2012

Reiki can be heard passing by from time to time. The other day I also heard someone talking about how nice it was to have a reiki treatment. But what exactly is reiki? I am a reiki master so I know a little bit about it. I also gave courses for a while and noticed that the combination with hypnosis is very effective

Reiki

Reiki comes from the two words Rei and Ki. As such, it consists of two Japanese characters. Rei means as much as "spirit" or "soul" and Ki means "energy" or "life force. How I learned it 10 years ago was that Reiki is the universal life energy.

Reiki originated because Mikao Usui, a Japanese man who, after 21 days of fasting and meditation on Mount Kurama, passed on symbols of what later became the

Reiki symbolen zouden worden. Hij merkte dat als hij deze symbolen inzette tijdens een behandeling dat er wonderbaarlijke dingen gebeurde.

You have different grades of Reiki. For example, you start with Reiki I and are initiated into the Reiki energy, so to speak, so that you can work with it. You can then help yourself with the universal life energy.

After I had my first Reiki initiation, it was so powerful that I began to see and experience all kinds of things. I remember very well my sister and I were driving back in the car and I said to her "I don't think you see what I see. Indeed, what I saw on the street were huge numbers of people while no one was walking 'in real life' that late. That was a very bizarre experience and I have a few more like that.

At the time, I was still working in construction, and as you can imagine, they weren't exactly hot for Reiki there, and that's putting it mildly. They thought it was ridiculous, woolly, paranormal stuff and more of the same.

Now that's fine with me, because everyone is welcome to believe what they want to believe. So I would take my incense and light it once in a while in the shack and sit on the table with my legs crossed and say some mantra. When you are not so serious about it you make it more accessible, that is my experience.

So at one point I then got to treat some colleagues with energy and it worked. One from his knee pain, another from tennis elbow and another from wrist pain. They still didn't believe in it, but they believed I could do "something. Nice how that works with people.

Gradations in Reiki

After Reiki I you get Reiki II and I obtained that in Thailand on Ko Samui. When you have Reiki II you can also heal remotely. That was a very special experience and I also tested that in the construction industry, with success! After Reiki II there is one more degree and that is the master degree and I also obtained that.

That I became a reiki master I taught quite a few courses and even initiated colleagues in construction. I think we had the most spiritual construction company at one point, and what's totally beautiful, they helped quite a few people with it as well.

And that inspired me from then on to look for the most effective and efficient methods to make rapid changes. For me, NLP and Hypnosis are the tools that work best and when you combine it with energy it is absolutely super. Energy is the basis and everything is made up of energy and we can influence that.

So when you get good at that, you also get better at coaching, doing therapy, and actually you become more effective at everything you do. Mesmer used energy to help people for a reason and was very good at it. He even treated 3,000 patients a day at one point! And he used his own power that you too possess. When are you going to generate that power?

In the video below, I discuss the symbols a bit more:
