Pain management, how to do it
How to combat pain
Years ago, I was at the Nijmegen four-day event. Not as a participant, but as a hypnotist at the blister post. There I hypnotized people so they didn't feel pain when the blisters were treated.
Super fun to do and that item can still be found on YouTube
Pain management hypnosis
At one point, a girl came in and was looking for aspirin. This is because she was suffering from her knee and wanted to numb it so she could continue walking.
'Do you want to get rid of that?", I asked her. 'Fine,' she said.
So I asked her, 'What does that look like there? In your knee?
She said it was like a rubber band being stretched. I asked her if she could imagine it was a slack rubber band. She could...
And the pain was gone.
The surprise on her face was crazy to behold. She no longer felt it and could walk on again.
Later in the item, the camera crew and Harm Edens run into her again and she tells them that she didn't and still doesn't have any problems. She just ran it. Pain was gone within a minute in this case.
Now of course this is very personal and doesn't work that way for everyone, but pain can be resolved. Of course you want to know if it's not a signal of something that needs to be done about, but in this case she wanted an aspirin so whether you take that or do hypnosis. Little difference.
If it would have been a client then first be sure if the pain is functional. If not? Then it can go away. Even chronic pain can be resolved that way. Perhaps not in a minute, but in a session it can be done.
That's what hypnosis 2.0 trainees are going to learn with me today. What will you be doing today?
