Hypnosis and Therapy

Hypnosis and Therapy

Hypnosis can be used for many purposes. The most common nowadays are either for show or for therapy. There's not much difference although you shouldn't say that to all hypnotherapists. Those usually can't do the "quick" form of hypnosis either and sometimes even find it scary.

What does differ, of course, is the purpose. In the show, that's entertainment. In therapy, that's solving a problem. The means remains the same only the goal is different. Therefore, the quick and direct form of hypnosis can also be used perfectly well in therapy.

When you apply this quick form, you are often more effective as a therapist. This is because the client is more convinced that he or she is in hypnosis and therefore causes the hypnosis to deepen themselves. With "normal" hypnotherapists, you often do not even feel that you have been in hypnosis and the therapy is therefore less effective.

So it's important to bring a convincer to people. Making an arm rise as if by itself, a hand stick to the table or a limb immobile is a super way.

You then make it a lot easier on yourself when you are the therapist.

The Client in Hypnosis

Know that you can change a lot in hypnosis. It is obviously not a panacea, but a lot of things you now believe about yourself or that you do are learned. And unconscious and you do them automatically. Doesn't that sound hypnotic?

Unfortunately, because of all those shows on TV, people are brainwashed in the wrong way. You see people doing all kinds of crazy things and you think "If only that doesn't happen to me when I go for a hypnosis session. Of course that doesn't happen.

Anyway, you don't know that, you just have to trust it.

One thing I know 100%. Every hypnotherapist I train certainly doesn't do that kind of thing, and I trust that no hypnotherapist pulls that off. The funny thing is, they can't even do it if you don't want them to. After all, you always have control in hypnosis.

Hypnosis is one of the best ways to:

  • To support recovery in case of illness or after surgeries
  • Changing Beliefs
  • Change behavior
  • Changing bad habits for good
