Are you familiar with the Current Reality Tree?
Yesterday I was at a mastermind meeting with all entrepreneurs. We filled out a current reality tree there.
Do you know.
This is from the book "It's Not a Coincidence" by Eli Goldratt. Very interesting because it helps you find bottlenecks in your business. Or bottlenecks
The funny thing is that a lot of entrepreneurs think the bottleneck is outside of them. The location is no good, the team is the bottleneck, the amount of clients is the bottleneck and so on.
However, if you probe further you will (almost) always come to your own bottleneck. Within yourself. A belief, an idea, a thought, a blind spot.
Super interesting.
After all, if you solve these then things flow again. Literally too and problems dissolve.
This is how I discovered a bottleneck with me 10 years ago. For the first three years of my business, I turned over 30,000 euros. That was before taxes, so converted not even assistance. And we received no subsidies.
At one point in hypnosis, I discovered a memory. A memory of my old boss saying, "Ed you are not an entrepreneur.
I believed that. I'm not an entrepreneur. And that reality was exactly right. That was the bottleneck.
I changed that belief and the following year I went to the 100,000 euro sales mark for the first time. A tripling!
Was I doing anything different? Not really very different. But probably just in a different tone, using different words and doing something just a little bit different. After all, I was now an entrepreneur.
So yesterday I participated in the exercise. I had never done it so extensively before and put down ten problems that are there now in my business.
And guess what? For eight problems, one bottleneck could be found. That one was in me. A conflict.
Minutes spent staring ahead of me. I found my blind spot. Somehow I knew it, but when it's staring at you so clearly "in your face" it really comes in.
Taking a nice bath at home solved the bottleneck. So what if that means it will triple my sales like it did ten years ago? Then it was a lucrative day yesterday.
What do you think your bottleneck is?
