Training muscles with just your brain

Muscle TrainingIs it possible to train your muscles without any physical effort? That you grow your muscles with only mental exercises? Research shows that it is indeed possible.

Training muscles with your brain

Research at a British University has shown that you can even grow muscle by visualizing. An incredible idea when you think about it.

They had formed two groups and one group was going to train their muscles with strength training and the other group was going to do the same exercise at the same time, but only in their minds. They were going to visualize it and just pretend that they were training their muscles.

In a given time frame, the strength-training group had a 30% increase in muscle growth and strength. The other group, who had only visualized that had an increase of a whopping 16%!

Just imagine what that means. So you don't even have to go to the gym to train your muscles. That's already interesting, of course, but for people who are hospitalized, I think it's even more valuable.

These people can greatly empower themselves with self-hypnosis and visualization. In fact, by suggesting certain exercises, you can also strengthen specific muscles. You can think of people who lie down all the time and get back pain. These people can benefit greatly from this form of muscle strengthening.

Athletes can also benefit tremendously, because imagine combining it. And training, AND visualizing. Your muscle strength will then improve by leaps and bounds.

Taking this even further, what else would be possible. Dexterity is certainly something that can be trained through hypnosis, but perhaps physical ailments, such as arthritis, rheumatism or fused body parts.

I challenge every hypnotherapist to get on board with this and start testing this phenomenon. I'd love to hear your findings and if you have any, I'd love for you to leave a comment below.
