Wanting to commit suicide is not necessary

Commit suicideOne problem that is unfortunately very common is wanting to commit suicide. Fortunately, it often doesn't happen, but just the idea and the thought is of course horrifying. Where does that idea come from?

Suicide

Why do people want to commit suicide? There can be many reasons, and often it is an emotional problem. I myself used to have that inclination, but fortunately never had the guts (in retrospect) to do it. My uncle, however, did and even got help with it.

Often it is a succession of a number of things that are difficult to cope with. Especially for young people, this is difficult to do because they soon see no other way out. Before you know it, you then get all kinds of thoughts and they cause you to constantly think about all that misery. When that becomes unconsciously automatic, you get a kind of suicide mantra in your head and it drives you crazy.

My favorite quote here is from Richard Bandler, one of the creators of NLP. He says the following about wanting to commit suicide: "Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem..." and I think this is true when I look at myself.

Nothing is permanent, only when you're in the middle of it it seems that way. Fortunately, you can take control of your own thoughts, although it takes training. After all, by nature as a human being you tend to think negatively, rather than positively. So you have to make a commitment to it.

Suicidal thoughts

Remember that every thought is also changeable in form. You don't have to do anything about the content. I would like to challenge you to do the following exercise for yourself and notice what effect it has on you.

Exercise

  1. Take a moment to think that negative thought and repeat it in your head
  2. Then make it sound louder (that probably doesn't feel comfortable to do...).
  3. If you can make it sound louder, you can also change its tone
  4. Change the tone now in ...

Your sexiest voice... and now repeat the same thought in that voice....

Now the same thought already sounds less bad, right? Of course, I understand that not all your problems will be solved like snow in the sun, but if you do this often, I guarantee you will start to feel a lot better.

If you want to get rid of it quickly because it is hindering you then it is good to make an appointment. I have already helped many people with this and they are back to living life to the fullest and yes they had it just as bad as you, or worse....

I’ve been thinking about suicide for a long time, but this year those thoughts have really intensified. I see a psychologist, but I don’t dare tell her about it because she immediately threatens to have me hospitalized. It’s really hard for me. No one at home knows about my problem either. Can hypnosis actually help with suicidal thoughts? Like, so I can just forget everything? I hope so, because if it can, I’d really love that! Best, Cindy
