Spiritual development is bad

After all, you are always more...

If I asked you, "Who are you?" you'd probably answer with your name. But I didn't ask what your name was. I asked, "Who are you...

Years ago, I lived in a working-class neighborhood and asked this same question of my neighbor. He replied, "Ton. Then I looked deeply into his eyes and said, "I know that... But who are you..." emphasizing the you in a lower tone. His reply? 'Ehhhhh'

Ton was a truck driver and had nothing to do with personal development or worse, spiritual awakening. He got no further than his name and ehhh. What a stupid man...

Or not.

I sometimes ask spiritually evolved people this question, and they answer by name. If I then say, 'I know that, but who are you...' then comes the next label such as: 'A human being' and again I then say, 'I know that but who are you...'

And that could go on for a dozen or so because that's where labels like: "A soul, God, the alpha and omega, energy, light, everything and nothing, the universe...

And I keep saying "Yes I know that but who are you...

After ten or more labels, they are where Ton, my old neighbor, was after just one. At "Ehhhh

Didn't a book two thousand years ago say, "The last shall be first? It always makes me think of that.

The more 'labels' you create for your idea of yourself the harder it becomes to experience who you are'

Let me explain. Are you your name? No you are more than your name right? Are you your body? No you are more than your body. Your thoughts? No, you are more. Your feelings? No, you are more than your feelings. You are always more than that.

Even if you say, "I am God," you are always more than that.

Yes but Ed: "I am everything...

Then I say, "You are always more than everything...

Beautiful Week
