Obese looks back and Obesity proves tricky after all

Obese, the program about obesity that got even me in front of the tube is going to recap. In the retrospective we are going to see Danny who had lost a huge amount of weight in a year, about 150 pounds. That's a huge achievement of course, but unfortunately it's not going so well again....

Obesity

More than 200 million adults suffer from obesity around the world. In the Netherlands, that's about 11% of people so over one and a half million people.

Therefore, a program has been created to draw attention to this growing worldwide problem. The program is called Obese and was a hit early this year. Participants were followed in their struggle to lose weight.

So when are you overweight or obese? We speak of being overweight (obese) when a person has a BMI (Body Mass Index) of 25 kg/m². If the BMI is 30 kg/m² then we speak of obesity. Above a BMI of 40 kg/m² then we even speak of morbid obesity and then it becomes life-threatening.

In that the program Obese we saw Danny and he lost an incredible amount of weight in one year. Extremely much even because he lost more than 150 kg in one year. A super achievement because as a result he regained a considerably healthier weight.

Mentally, however, not much had changed. Instead of an eating addiction, he now had a sports addiction of exercising 5-6 hours a day. I have been an addict myself and this is so recognizable. The interesting thing was that he denied it and actually thought this was very good. Typical addiction behavior.

Now they are going to look back and what I already expected has happened. He has gained weight again and as much as 50 kilos in a very short time, a few months. It also makes sense because subconsciously little has changed. In fact, there are 3 ways that are important to address obesity:

  1. Eating less and eating healthier
  2. Move more responsibly
  3. Detecting and changing unconscious patterns

The first 2 make sense to most people. Eat less, exercise more. However, the third aspect is the most important. After all, if you have emotional trauma and eating keeps you from feeling it, you can move all you want, but the pattern remains. Emotions are also fattening!

In addition, there are often patterns such as eating as a reward or comfort and eating unconsciously. You also often see that people really have an urge to eat which is similar to drugs. That urge is so strong and it's also so easy to get food that it can be very dangerous. It's an addiction.

You really need to get into it and also address the unconscious program in addition to proper guidance from a personal trainer.

Hypnotherapy and obesity

Hypnotherapy can certainly help resolve obesity. It is the best complement alongside a nutritionist and a personal trainer. The latter two work with the body and the hypnotherapist with the mind. That trinity might be the ultimate solution to this growing problem.

Calculate for yourself if you suffer with the chart below.

Edwin, how good of you to post this. Stupid coincidence (doesn't exist), I was just talking about this Danny with a client yesterday. How while I had watched the efforts of this and the other candidates with great respect, I had also watched with amazement and disbelief that I felt the candidates were left to their own devices as far as the mental piece was concerned. And that a new addiction had been added in the case of Danny was also quite obvious.Well, so the fact that it now turns out to be disappointing really doesn't surprise me at all. In fact, it's the same as when someone goes on a temporary diet. It also only works temporarily. Hopefully more and more people will begin to see the importance of the real cause of addictions, among other things. It's all about how you feel. You have to address that too otherwise all your tremendous effort will be for nothing and it will continue to take effort.By the way, where can I find how the candidates are doing?Sunny greetings!
