Medical science is quackery
After a thorough investigation, medical science turns out to be quackery, which is shocking. What they do is founded on minimal research and appears to be of little help.
Medical science is quackery
A bold statement, but the conclusion after research by the British Medical Journal. They examined as many as 2,500 of the most commonly prescribed mainstream medical treatments and medications. It showed that medicine uses drugs of which only 12% are said to have a positive effect. The rest are quackery or even life-threatening according to the study.
The numbers on treatments and medications at a glance
- 3% has a greater adverse than beneficial effect
- 5% unlikely to be beneficial
- 8% as much beneficial as adverse effect
- 12% some evidence of beneficial effect
- 23% a very weak evidence of any beneficial effect
- 49% do not know what effect it has
Those are quite numbers and that for a science that claims to be the only right one and tries to nail alternative medicine to the cross.
For example, it has long been known that pharmaceutical companies spend more on marketing their products than on developing good drugs. The percentage is 75-25, where 75% of the budget goes into marketing the products. This amounts to billions.
Now it's fine to market your products, but they have to be good. And that is questionable because sometimes the product is even life-threatening.
The "association against quackery" assumes that medical science is the only correct one, and their great example includes investigative journalist Ben Goldacre. He regularly denounced 'alternative' medicine in his column 'Bad Science' in The Guardian. Recently, Goldacre wrote the book "Bad Pharma. In it, Goldacre reports that most medical research is false.
What he summarizes in that book is:'The mainstream medical world, according to government standards for scientific evidence and the "Association Against Quackery," is at a minimum a pseudoscience tending toward quackery. This is supported in part by the results of research by the mainstream medical community itself. (source:scienceinfo)
Alternative medicine and the placebo effect
In alternative medicine, things are done very differently. Hypnosis is also still an alternative medicine to this day and works thanks to suggestions and the placebo effect.
Interestingly, the placebo effect works better than any drug. When someone believes the medicine works then it works (sounds like hypnosis...). Research has shown for years that people need to know what medicine it is and what it is good for, otherwise it hardly works. Figures now support this phenomenon, but it was already clear from previous studies on the placebo effect.
From one of the more recent studies on paracetamol, for example, women were told they were given it for their menstrual symptoms. The women had already indicated that paracetamol helped. However, they were now given a different drug (a placebo) and in 80% of the women it helped. That's a higher percentage than "regular" drugs.
Furthermore, there have been numerous studies. Research by Dr. Bruce Moseley of Houston, found that fake surgery instead of commonly used surgery for osteoarthritis of the knee had the same or better results than regular surgery, even in the long term. Yet they do not deploy this phenomenon and everyone still operates on the knee as usual, with all the complications that can come with it.
Hypnosis and placebo
In hypnotherapy, we also work a lot with placebo. That's because it works well. The human body is so advanced that it is fine to heal and cure a lot of things on its own, only it has to be given the opportunity.
It is good to realize that our belief in self-healing and healing is essential and even crucial in healing. Personally, I am convinced that hypnosis can help with this because faith can be greatly strengthened. Every day I see this happening.
Self-hypnosis before surgery can have very beneficial effects in patients and it would be good to propagate it more. More research on this should take place I think so that we start to approach the "mind" and the body holistically again. Because body and mind are separated only in language, as it turns out....
