Thinking yourself healthy: How do you do it?
Thinking yourself healthy is an interesting idea, can it be done and if so, how do you do it? First, it is helpful to know what is healthy. For example, when I walk into a bookstore and I want to eat healthy you get all kinds of variations. Vegan books, that you don't eat anything from animals, or just a total meat diet and also the paleo diet. There is a lot of everything, so there are also many ways you can look at healthy (eating)
I don’t really diet, but I eat whatever I want. What I want to eat is as much produce as possible. I’ve noticed that I’m eating more of that and less of other things.
This is all about food, but what is healthy?
For example, how do you think? You often think I images, sounds and feelings. So good feelings, good images and good voices (thoughts) in your head. So what is good? Brief and average or general bright colorful and light images. For example, if you see a mountain in front of you, but it is nice and bright then it is a nice mountain. But if the mountain is gray and drab or black and white, then for most people it is not a nice mountain.
Thinking in color is often fine.
The thoughts you have or the little voices in your head, you don't want them nagging you. Not one of those irritating little voices that you can't do something or something. A nice cozy voice is much nicer, then it often doesn't even matter what you think/say.
Then we come to the emotional aspect: when you feel good, your body releases all those feel-good chemicals. Dopamine, serotonin, endorphins, and all those positive feelings bring more color and cheerful voices into your life. And that, in turn, reinforces the cycle.
So how do you think of yourself as healthy?
Stress is the biggest killer. Stress often causes disease, so logically you want to avoid it.
Stress is often caused by our thoughts, and scientists now also indicate that our thoughts are linked to aging and health[1].
But how can you not act or think stressed? Then make your images in your mind clear and light, create nice tones in your head (even if your thought voice says something negative) and then you will automatically start to feel good.
This helps you feel healthier as you experience less or no stress.
All such techniques also change your worldview. You put yourself into a certain hypnosis. You usually do that already. When you think negatively, you often see many more negative things than when you think positively.
So we are always very selective in our hypnosis.
If you make a habit of thinking yourself healthier in the sense of being more colorful, having nice voices and feeling good, you will start seeing more happy people. Then your model of the world will be reinforced again.
Another thing that helps you think healthily is your beliefs. What do you believe about yourself? Do you believe you’re worthy of being healthy? Do you believe you have any value at all?
If you answered "no" to any of those questions, you have some work to do.
After all, your belief is also a filter. If you believe you won't succeed or that you can't do it, chances are indeed high that you won't succeed. Especially if you say this in such a negative voice.
But saying this positively is already different.
You can also believe that you’re worth it. You’re the chosen one here on Earth. Out of eighty million sperm cells, you’re the one who, together with an egg, became a person here on Earth and is allowed to be here.
So yes, then you are chosen.
So get involved. After all, you're here now 😊. Then you can believe you're not worth it, but of course that doesn't make sense. You are worth it, otherwise you wouldn't be here, wouldn't be reading this blog, so it's actually a lot of fun.
So force yourself to set that positive tone. It may not be easy at first, but you can do it.
At first you may think it's a little weird and like you're kidding yourself. But if you say you're not worth it, then you're just as much fooling yourself. So then you might as well fool yourself in a positive way.
Most people fool themselves.
So how do you think of yourself as healthy?
Start believing something that is at least true, such as:
- You are good enough.
- You are worth it.
- You are a fine person.
Now believe that first. But if that foundation is already good, then (and anyway) get into colorful thinking. Use your brain for more color in your life. When you see an image, make it colorful, bright and light. Think red or green and make them colorful. Be the Picasso in your own life 😊.
Turn your life into an amazing work of art. This starts in your head and you will see it happening around you at some point.
Think fun, too. The content doesn't even have to be fun. If you're feeling bad, at least say it to yourself in a tone that's nice. Then it's already a lot less tough.
Suddenly you're in a different vibe.
It sounds simple and it is, but that doesn't mean it's easy. This also depends a bit on your starting point. I didn't feel good either, I was suicidal and on drugs, but eventually I got here in the healthy.
If I had known about this earlier, I would have felt better a lot faster. But it is what it is, so take advantage of this.

Changing thoughts with hypnosis for greater health
It’s almost common knowledge that hypnosis can be used to quit smoking and lose weight. Hypnosis is also widely used to treat irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). A study on the influence of hypnosis on thoughts also shows that there is a clear correlation between health and the thoughts of people with IBS.
People who suffered greatly from PDS symptoms usually had the greatest cognitive abnormalities (abnormal thoughts). After hypnotherapy, the thoughts of the people with PDS became more normal and they suffered much less to no more from their PDS[2].
You’ll also find that, when dealing with other issues, your thoughts can help you become healthier. For skin conditions or skin problems, for example, hypnotic cognitive behavioral therapy (thought therapy) and meditation are also considered[3].
Hypnosis is also used for more mental illnesses, such as depression, to gain more healthy thoughts and thereby remedy depression[4].
So thinking yourself healthy is definitely possible, with or without a little help from a hypnotherapist.
For example, while reading this blog, do you feel that it is impossible to hear negative thoughts at least in a kind of happy voice? If so, that may be a reason to talk to a hypnotherapist after all.
Something is actually blocking you from thinking healthily.
Sometimes it’s enough for the hypnotherapist to guide you into a hypnotic state, and then for you to practice together how to add a cheerful voice to your thoughts and enhance the colors in your mind.
Depending on your health goals, other techniques can also be used in addition to “thinking yourself healthy.” For example, the swish technique can be used to replace unhealthy habits with healthy ones. Super handy!
If the problem is a bit more difficult to solve, regression therapy may be a solution. In that case, the therapist will explore when the belief that causes you to think unhealthily or makes it difficult to value yourself originated.
In fact, you can then revisit that moment with your current knowledge, and since you learn something new every day, that's more than in that moment.
This allows you to begin to see the moment in a completely different way, which also changes the beliefs that were created at the time. This then makes it a lot easier to think healthily.
