ABM I heard once during a course and has always stayed with me. It is an interesting hypnosis namely that some people almost never get into.
After all, it stands for Action Beats Meditation
It's about how if you want to achieve something it's better to go into action rather than meditate on it. Many people do the opposite. Who try to solve problems by meditating on them.
Look, you can meditate for years (which is a good idea, by the way), but that doesn't mean that those problems out there will then solve themselves. It is often much more convenient to move on to action.
- If you find it hard to write and don't know what to write? Start writing.
- Finding it hard to exercise? Get moving.
- If you can't find clients? Start calling.
Take action. Charles Schulz drew a comic strip of Snoopy every day in the newspaper. From 1950 to 2000 (until his death). That's 18,250 comics!
He said, "Writersblock is for amateurs.
He has a point. You just have to take action.
'But I don't know how...' Just do it.
You can meditate on it, resolve your blockages with therapy, discuss your problems with your friends, lie on a divan for years or just take action.
Sometimes it's that simple. That, too, is a form of hypnosis. Procrastination. This is not something you have but do. You procrastinate. You do something that prevents you from doing or will prevent you from doing something else. If you don't do that, then you do that other thing.
'Yes, but...'
To kill that little voice, just take action. So if you're reading this and you have yet to do anything? Do it now? That one phone call you keep putting off? Pick up the phone now and make the call.
If you've had time to read this you can also call, or write, or clean up, or whatever.
Waiting for a sign from above or something? This is him.
GO! Action Beats Meditation!
