Hypnotic Coma is the most profound state of hypnosis

Hypnotic Coma

When you practice hypnotherapy and hypnosis, as a hypnotist you want to be in control of what happens. This is very important because you are dealing with the safety of the other person. Therefore, you want the person you are hypnotizing to follow your instructions. This also allows you to properly supervise the process.

Now it does happen sometimes and they used to say it happened at 1 in 15,000 times and you had to watch out for it. After all, if it happened then you couldn't get someone out of hypnosis. If you then as a hypnotist went to count and gave the instruction to open the eyes and come out of hypnosis, it was not followed. No suggestion was even followed.

Well, and then...

James Esdaille was the first to successfully work with this state and to induce it spontaneously. Esdaille was a surgeon who began applying Anton Mesmer’s techniques and achieved a state that even Mesmer himself had been unable to attain. In the “Esdaille” state, people are completely insensitive to pain. They are fully anesthetized. He discovered this in India and believed that surgeons in England would certainly want to learn this technique.

Anesthesia and hypnosis

Unfortunately for him, things didn't go the way he thought they would. Esdaille was even seen as an outcast at one point, as the other surgeons simply could not achieve his results. At that time, 50% of people died on the operating table and with James Esdaille, only 8%. And you understand that when people can't get the results that you alone get, they start ridiculing you and that's why he was labeled a charlatan.

Consequently, his method was not researched, to the point that Dave Elman started researching it. He discovered that you can create the Esdaille state, or hypnotic coma as Elman calls it, in people quite easily. It is especially a very nice state to teach women who are going into labor. They will then give birth completely pain-free.

The steps to achieve hypnotic coma are quite easy to do. It involves 3 steps to do and then you can get almost anyone into the deepest state of hypnosis and achieve full anesthesia.

The steps are:

  1. First, you need to create an eye-lock and really make sure that the person you want to put into the coma cannot get their eyes open again
  2. Then you have to make him forget something. So you create amnesia on suggestion, for example, that someone's name is gone and he can't retrieve it. You then create the somnabulous state, or a state of mental relaxation
  3. Then you deepen that state by literally going down one level each time via an elevator or escalator, all the way to the basement of relaxation. In that basement you reach the "Esdaille-State," or hypnotic coma

When you reach the state of hypnotic coma then that person will no longer follow any suggestion. That is also your test to know if you really have that state. If you have it then, how do you get someone out of it, because if someone stops responding to you, then nothing is going to work, right? Fortunately, it does.

What to say is the following: 'If you don't open your eyes when I count to 3 you will never get back to this wonderful state you are in now'

Which works perfectly because the reason someone doesn't respond to you is that they simply don't want to lose that feeling. In fact, it is so delicious that you just don't want to do anything further. Then when you get the suggestion that you will never experience that feeling again you are wide awake within seconds.

It is an amazingly beautiful state to be in and to help people become completely relaxed and pain-free. It obviously takes training to do this well but the wonderful effects are phenomenal. I would love to hear what you think about it
