Hypnosis and Losing Weight

Losing weight with hypnosisLosing weight is a problem for many people. Not being allowed to eat anything and dieting a lot doesn't work for many people, and that makes sense. Everything you are not allowed suddenly becomes a lot more attractive and it has long since been proven that dieting does not work. At least if you don't keep doing it. If you follow the diet your whole life you won't get fat. The fact is that most people drop out after 3 to 6 months and then quickly return to their old weight. In fact, sometimes they are even heavier. With hypnosis, this can be done much easier.

Hypnosis and Losing Weight

Losing weight without dieting is perfectly possible. In fact, it is important that you are "programmed" correctly. If you look at overweight people, they often don't exercise enough and eat too much. You don't just get fat or you have to get/have a physical condition such as thyroid problems. Every pound still goes through the mouth. That is fine of course, only if you look at what goes through that mouth, it is not very healthy. Pizzas, burgers, fries, pies, sausages and you name it.

And how about soft drinks and lemonade or candy. That turns you on nicely. The funny thing is, you have to train yourself to like all that. You naturally like very different things like fruits and vegetables. Things that give you energy. My kids would rather have a banana or a tangerine than candy. They also just don't get candy and the fruit bowl is on the table. They are used to it and would rather eat an apple than a winegum.

Anyway, what if you are already programmed that way. You just don't like green vegetables and fruits. You love eating 2 shoarma sandwiches with as much sauce as possible. If you now have to unlearn this, you have to do everything by willpower and then you start a fight with yourself. If you consider that your subconscious determines 95% of your behavior and you want to beat it with willpower (5%), then I wish you good luck. Everything can succeed, but it can be easier.

Different Eters

It is good to make a distinction in the differences people have when losing weight. Everyone who is overweight eats for a reason and it is not because they are hungry ;-) You can distinguish them into 3 categories.

Who are:

  1. Emotion Eaters
  2. Conditioned eaters
  3. Unconscious Eaters

Surely you see the first category the most. You have a frustration, anger or sadness and eating then provides comfort, peace or satisfaction. You also often see it in people who want to "protect" themselves. It makes them hold themselves up and at some point it literally becomes so. It is good not to look only physically. People often only look at the body and forget about the mind. Body and mind are 1 and are only separated by language!

The first category is very recognizable because you often see it reflected in other addictions. To suppress emotions, people use drink or drugs or food. That way you numb yourself and don't have to feel it for a while. Of course you create more problems but that is later, when it is often too late. This form of eating is quite difficult to tackle with willpower alone.

The second category is the conditioned eater. In this case, you have been instilled from a young age that you have to empty your plate (who doesn't?) or that eating is a reward. 'Have some more...' or 'Eat some more, it's good for you' or putting lots of toppings on a sandwich. These are all conditioned patterns that make you a fat person. You then really have to unconsciously start changing the pattern, otherwise you will stay stuck in those programs and losing weight will be difficult.

The third category is the unconscious eater. You're sitting on the couch with a bag of chips and without noticing it, it's suddenly empty. You know that? It's not a problem (yet) if it doesn't make you overweight. But if you unknowingly wolf down two greasy pizzas, you'll understand that it's not going well. This is easily addressed when you train yourself to really chew every bite 30 times and put the pizza down when you are chewing. Your stomach doesn't signal to your brain that it's full until 15 to 20 minutes later. By then it's often too late and you've already eaten more than you need to eat. So eat consciously!

Hypnotherapy and Losing WeightLosing weight a problem

Hypnosis is one of the best ways to keep losing weight and stay at your target weight. This is because it causes you to unconsciously automatically start doing those things to get to that weight. You no longer have to make an effort and that's nice. 1 or 2 sessions are often enough.

What you can do yourself is get started with self-hypnosis. You put yourself into hypnosis and then give yourself good suggestions such as "Vegetables and fruits are tasty," "Fatty food disgusts me," "I will get and stay easily 80 pounds (or less of course ;-)). In addition, it is important to see yourself as slim or at least at your ideal weight. And finally, it is important to love yourself as you are now. After all, from there you really get the motivation to would you do it differently?

Treat yourself to that ideal weight simply because you are worth it. After all, you are a valuable person and you deserve to achieve your goals easily and simply. Share this article with your network if you feel it could be of use to them and to spread the word that hypnosis is a power we can all use to start living the life we want.

It worked well for my wife. Then her friends started coming over. One of them had already lost a significant amount of weight after just a few days and was over the moon! We did a “maintenance session” every week. Gradually, they started to stop coming, one by one—even the most enthusiastic ones. It turned out it wasn’t helping anyone anymore, except for my wife, who is still close to her target weight after a year.

It’s great that people can lose weight with hypnosis, and that’s fine, but you have to know how to do self-hypnosis.

What a short-sighted approach to being overweight: every pound goes through the mouth! That excludes a large group of overweight people who simply eat healthily and in moderation yet are still overweight. Aside from heart problems, I’m perfectly healthy, my thyroid functions well, and I feel great about myself. I eat in moderation and healthily, exercise a lot, but I’m still significantly overweight—and no, I’m not a secret eater! Thank goodness the doctors believe me, but they can’t find the reason for my excess weight. So my hope is pinned on hypnosis (or another effective method), but when I read your approach or opinion regarding excess weight, I’m truly very surprised! I just had to get that off my chest. I’ll keep looking for a hypnotherapist who doesn’t generalize so much. Kind regards, Thilly Ran

Lose weight with hypnosis, placebo or not, as long as the results are there, although I personally would always recommend a combination with lots of exercise.
