How do you get work after high school?

Applying for a job if you have the "wrong" degree can be tough. Not with these tips!

Meanwhile, I've been helping people for 16 years. The funny thing is, I was already doing that in high school. During your high school years, you know that somewhere inside you is the talent to start doing that which will become your job. That what you will later do as a job or the job you will create yourself. The job as I have it now did not exist at all! I used to go and make my choice based on what makes good money and what I was good at. But, just because you are good at it doesn't mean you want to do that for the rest of your life.

A good way to think about whether a job is right for you is to ask yourself the following question:

"Can I be in that environment for 24 hours?

Can you see yourself working in an office? Then imagine yourself among working people in the office. If you want to become a doctor, hang out at the hospital.

Is the answer yes? Top.

So "no? Then just know!

It's that simple.

Your born talent

The talent you have in you, what you were born with, you can find a suitable job for that.

I myself am a born people helper. I used to help people with all sorts of things, and I have now created a job in that. In fact, I now even create many jobs for other people. So you can do that!

I left school early, which is not exactly the best advice for when you're still in high school. I did get my diploma, but after that I was completely out of school. Then I worked in construction for 10 years and at some point I found out what I essentially knew all along, only I couldn't think of a job to go with it.

Offer your services

At this time, I like to give you the following advice: just get started already, do something on the side, start a business, start learning! Even if you don't have a degree, just go to work. That's the best tip!

You know what always fascinates me so much? That people want to get paid a lot first and only then do they start showing what they can do. Instead of the other way around! First show what you can do, then I'll pay you. That's how entrepreneurs think .

Be an entrepreneur too! Go work somewhere. Offer your services. Then just get a job, even without a degree.

Create your own opportunities

I was dining out the other day in a real two-star restaurant. That was the first time for me and a crazy experience. The other day I read in a book about a sous chef in that same restaurant. He was once also a bad student in school and didn't know what he wanted, and now he is the sous chef of a two-star restaurant. Why? He went to work somewhere, saw the light, and was forced to really give his all. He thought, "Wow this is crazy, this competition in the kitchen. He was given an opportunity and he took it! The rest is history. So you see. You can create your own opportunities.

THUS. If you are reading this and you are in high school, or you are a parent and your child is in high school. And you're thinking, "Oh my gosh, I'm not going to get my diploma. Who gives a fuck, you know? Really, go figure out who of the top 10 billionaires in the world got their degree.... I think it's 50/50. As long as they do know and have the mindset of:

"Okay I want this, so I'm going to do it!

Give away a lot first, and you'll get a lot in return later. ;)
