Gym people don't train

At our house, it has become a bit of a gimmick and a skit. The gym guy. It's an interesting breed who thinks he trains, but he doesn't actually train at all.

He walks with a towel and a water bottle sighing and leaning by a machine. Occasionally the towel over the face and socializing with other gym people. That's important.

I, too, was a gym person. With a dumbbell in my hand, I would sit on a bench. Elbow in the side of my knee (there is a little hollow there) and then I would move the dumbell from my ankle to my knee. That's how I trained my biceps I thought.

And that's right, because they got bigger. But the question is, "When on earth do you do that movement in everyday life?

In construction? When lifting a cement bag?

'Wait a minute I'll lift it up', sitting on a bucket, elbow in knee and there hand goes toward ankle - picks up bag - and hand goes back toward knee.

Or something falls to the ground in the supermarket. You immediately sit on a scaffold with your elbow in your knee....

So never do you do that move in everyday life.

And that's the difference from crossfit. There you almost always use your whole body. It's never isolated movements.

I also used to go to the gym three to four times a week. With a schedule. Yes it had an effect and after a year I was definitely stronger, but what I achieved after a year in the crossfit box is unprecedented.

Still I do come into a gym, but it makes me laugh so much. Bit of sitting on a bike, backing up at a machine and zero sweat. And then thinking you are working out, but seeing no results. That's also because you're just moving and not training. That's a big difference.

Good thing about moving and lifting heavy things. Better than doing nothing. But with training, you really achieve results that are unprecedented.

'But crossfit is very injury prone, isn't it?' If you do it in a k*tbox yes with people who became coaches after a weekend. In a weekend you are not a crossfit coach, after seven days you are not a hypnotherapist and after 10 days of detox you are not core health either.

If you do it with proper guidance, with people who know about it then you will get real results. At 020 Reebok crossfit, this is true. What we do with the mind (programming it as it were), they do with the body. Truly unprecedented.

In the box, you see almost no fat people (they do come in and work out). In the gym, you do. Draw your own conclusion. You can look like a Mens Health guy but often those don't even manage 25 minutes of crossfit. And then they think they are doing "healthy and good".

Want real results? Then start working out and stop aimlessly doing those stupid exercises. Stretch that comfort zone before it becomes your deadzone 👊
