Make four times as much money in half the time....

Mildura is the grape capital of Australia. If you drive through that area, you can drive for 20 minutes and see nothing but grapes. Left, right, front, back. Just grapes.

Of course, we ran out of money when we got there, so we were forced to work in the blood heat in the grape field. The strategy was to cut the bunches with a knife and put them in a bucket.

Pretty big buckets.

Strategy

To fill 200 buckets was to earn $80. The first day we had worked from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. and we had earned $35.

We worked with two Italians and they were really Gunpickers. They were making $120 the man. They had much sharper blades, gloves on and, of course, hats on. After all, it was 45 degrees.

At the campsite, we made a plan. There were four of us. A guy from Eindhoven, from Australia, from Croatia and me. Charlie from Croatia had been in the military and was up every morning at five and would go running, then do situps, pushups and swimming. We started doing that too. Swimming and pushups.

State tapping we called it. We were in the state of Victoria and across the river was the state of New South Wales. We got fitter and fitter and came up with a plan.

The blades we threw away and we would simply rip everything off.

The plan worked. The new strategy was a lot better. I worked with Charlie, who tumbled through the bottom of the bushes and pulled all the strings there. The top I did. When you looked at the tendrils when we had been it was like an elephant had run through them.

Didn't matter to us. 400 buckets the man, $160 in the pocket.

We became Gunpickers. In Mildura, 10,000 pickers are active in the peak season. We were among the top 10.

If we had kept doing the same thing as those Italians, we would never have been a gunpicker. We started training for speed, fitness and found a different way. We were not only much faster as a result, but also earned more. Oh yeah and at two in the afternoon we were done.

It's good to see how others do it, but if that doesn't work for you? Then do something else. I also apply the Mildura tactic to my own business, which is why it is the largest Hypnosis Institute in Europe, and for good reason. So if you're doing something that's not working? Then do something else.

There is always a way that works much better....
