Dreams sometimes hide interesting things. Unfortunately, we often don't remember our dreams and miss the inspiration from our subconscious. Fortunately, you can also generate those dreams in hypnosis with the Dreammachine....
Dreams and their meaning
What exactly is a dream? According to many people, dreams are a way of processing the day. Your brain then starts to rearrange all the images, thoughts, sounds and feelings and uses dreams to do that. It is a way to process the day and nothing more.
But is that so. That I was 15 we had a dream club at school. We would discuss our dreams with each other and what it might mean. I found that I often knew exactly what it meant to others and fortunately they often knew about my dreams as well. I often found my own dreams more difficult. After all, you are in the middle of them.
Dreams also have special symbols that I didn't know then, but later did. I'm not going to write them all down here either because there are a lot of them, but a few symbols are important enough to mention.
Symbols
Water is a symbol of emotion. We as human beings are mostly composed of water, and when we dream about it, it is often about our emotional life. Rough seas or a calm lake are two very different emotions. When you start looking at it that way then suddenly you will discover very different things about that dream.
A cave represents a passageway and often to the subconscious mind. That passage comes from somewhere and that can be good or not so good at all. In hypnotherapy, this is why you never use the cave for an induction because you don't know which way it will go.
When you dream about a house you dream about your personality. The house represents you as a person. Is it a house with an open door, no fence, where anyone can just go in, then I already know approximately what you are like. If it has huge walls around it like a fortress, then I can also imagine something about you.
If you dream that someone is after you in a house you may ask yourself "What part of myself am I running from?
If you dream about clothes and trying on clothes, this is also kind of interesting. Clothing represents identity and fitting clothes then becomes fitting a new identity.
You can also use these symbols well in metaphors, storytelling. In my trainings I tell a lot of stories and there is also a lot of symbolism in them and I use those symbols in them. Subconsciously that is understood and so you can also tell stories on different levels.
Dreaming in hypnosis
Unfortunately, you often forget about your dreams and therefore what they might mean. Fortunately, in hypnosis we have a method by which we can awaken that
. We then engage in lucid dreaming, so to speak.
We then create those dreams in hypnosis and it's crazy what comes out of that. We then look for symbols that give insight and even solutions. You then reconnect with your subconscious and let it tell you what is needed. It can be very enlightening for you to work that way.
If you do this often, you tap into that infinite creativity we all possess, so to speak. If you too have ideas for remembering dreams, reliving them or what they might mean, leave a comment below.
