Disappointment. How do you get disappointed?

How can you be disappointed?

There is a very good way to be disappointed. Actually, there is only one way.

Expectations.

Disappointed

You expect the train to arrive on time and it arrives a little late. Disappointed. You expect there is no traffic jam and there is one. Disappointed.

And that disappointment then turns into another emotion. You may become frustrated, angry or even resentful. You can get sad or feel hurt, but you do that yourself. You had expectations and that is the best way to become disappointed.

Now it's also very difficult not to have expectations. That's an art in itself and I don't know if you can't have that either. You expect that when you come downstairs, all your furniture will still be there. Isn't it? Then you do feel something. And that makes sense.

Yesterday all Barcelona supporters expected to go to the final. Did not happen and tears flowed. Why? Expectations.

People who expect nothing cannot be disappointed. It's as simple as that. Then again, I personally don't know those people. I do know people who understand that expectations do not always come true and are able to deal with them. That too is an art.

And then you have people who go all out and try to bend life to their will. Their expectations have to match life. Those people have the hardest time.

Who are going to run screaming in a traffic jam, as if that traffic jam will then clear up sooner. Who start cursing at a train station because the train is late. They stalk people because they don't do what they expect.

Their expectations are the whole problem. Life has to adapt to them. Every frustration must be removed by other people.

They are the windmill fighters who semi-psychotically think that life should be all about them and everyone else should just fit in.

Trees that are rigid break in a storm. Reeds don't break but bend with a storm. Be like reeds, not rigid trees.

Nice day ❤️
