The Basics of Hypnotic Coaching
There are some elements that differ from "normal" coaching. For example, in normal coaching you have 7 steps that are important. In hypnotic coaching those are there too, but in a very different format
Those 7 steps are:
- A clear learning goal
- The right 'click' with the coach
- Regularity of meetings
- Safety while learning
- Structured sessions
- Ask questions
- Evaluate
Thus, "normal" coaches are in the coaching profession. The Hypnotic Coach (HC), however, has a very different idea in a number of ways. On those points, the HC model differs from the 'normal' model.
Where exactly does it differ.
If you want to be more successful as a coach, I think it's good to leave well-trodden paths. The same questions over and over again generate the same answers. Often it's more of the same. With this model it is different...Fortunately....
What it mainly differs in are a few things.
First, the way to ask questions. When you face a problem it is only because everything else is left out. Otherwise it wouldn't be a problem either. After all, if there are enough things to see, hear, smell, feel and taste, then the problem is no longer there.
You may hear another big difference right away. Content and process. Content is and remains the same. Even during the conversation. Only the perception of the problem changes. And after all, that's what it's all about.
Asking questions is very important because it gives the client direction. However, the way is also very important. I teach you that way in the Coach training.
Second is working with confusion. That comes from the way you ask questions. When you focus people on something they haven't already had their attention on it can be confusing.
Repeating that kind of question inevitably creates moments of confusion. The HC uses those as an avenue to find new ways. That's how they get out of the problem and create new ways for themselves.
Example of a 'normal' question
You're thinking about your problem and how do you feel now?
And an HC question might be:
When you think about your problem, What are you not feeling that you could be feeling right now?
Do you notice the difference?
It is important that clients find their own way, of course, but the HC is somewhat prescriptive. He does so in order to make the way clear faster. Therefore, the biggest difference is that the HC certainly does influence though in such a way that the client comes to an understanding more quickly.
