Covert Hypnosis | The Covert Way of Hypnosis

Covert HypnosisCovert hypnosis is a way of doing hypnosis that is not noticeable. You can do hypnosis that is not noticeable and still works very well. There is even a way of doing hypnosis that many people learn but don't even know they are doing this covert way of hypnosis. What that is?

Covert Hypnosis

One of the most concealed ways of doing hypnosis is NLP. NLP is neuro linguistic programming and originated in the 1970s in America. Because hypnosis was banned in many states at the time, they called it NLP. Part of the idea was to be able to do all hypnotherapy techniques covertly, without an induction.

One example is working with a timeline. Calling it that way makes it seem like something very different from a regression, but nothing could be further from the truth. By using different words you avoid the association that people may have with a regression, and that is very clever.

And so it certainly is with hypnosis. Many people have an association with it that is wrong, and by using a different word you don't suffer from that. Now NLP also has all kinds of associations that are often wrong, but it certainly didn't used to.

What NLP still does not have is that it is associated with hypnosis, and that while it certainly is hypnosis. It is one of the most concealed forms of hypnosis.

However, no NLP course has it in its training. Funny, because certainly Richard Bandler uses hypnosis a lot. I myself also did my training through Bandler's flow with different trainers, but I did not really discover hypnosis. In that respect, they still do it very covertly ;-)

However, what works really well is when you do the NLP techniques in hypnosis. Then you really notice how good NLP is.

NLP and Hypnosis

When you discover NLP you will find that all those ingenious language patterns and tuning in to the senses have the goal of hypnotizing. It's not called that, of course, but it does happen. It also often creates a form of hypnosis called "waking hypnosis. A form that you will also discover, for example, at our hypnosis event.

Doing hypnosis is a lot easier than NLP. Especially the linguistic part takes some practice while doing hypnosis is easy. To do it covertly, you also have to be good at hearing the language patterns in the other person so you can tune in accordingly. That also takes more time to practice, but certainly very valuable. That is also why I have integrated NLP into the hypnotherapy practitioner in my courses.

What is interesting to do is to listen to how people talk. In particular, listen to how they describe something. Is it more in images or more in feeling. And then tune into that person using the same words that also describe images or feelings. And then alternate. You'll be surprised what happens.

Play with it and realize that there are many more filters to tune into. We call these metaprograms. You can find some on my site, but start by tuning into the senses. Good luck with it.
