Rather nag than read...
A while ago, I also had to deal with it, and now there is something similar going on again. Not with me, mind you (although after this piece I might), but with Baudet.
Piece on nu.nl stating that he wants women back to the kitchen sink, is against abortion and wants to ban euthanasia. At least that is how it is suggested.
Baudet's essay
But did you read that entire piece? I did and in it there are not really very crazy things. The average number of children we have to have per family is 2.1 if we want to keep everything going. In Europe it is now 1.7 and in Hungary I would have been better off with my four children now.
Better off? Yes, because Orbán, the leader there, has said that if you have four children or more you don't have to pay income tax. Too bad it only applies to Hungarians, otherwise I'd go there.
Remember China that started the 1-child policy in the 1980s? Have they come back to it, but it's not really succeeding yet. If it continues, China's population will shrink after 2029.
Then you think, well there are plenty of them what do I care, but if there are no new children or not enough then there is no retirement, we continue to live longer, jobs are not filled and there you go.
In this way, underpopulation becomes the problem, not overpopulation. And that's what the piece is about.
Look that women have as many rights as men seems logical to me, but the way things are going now, it's so not going to happen. If women don't have enough children, we will have a problem in no time.
Abortion is not a solution (should be your own choice, of course), neither is having children later, but what is? That is the question, so instead of wanting to kick the man out of the country with pitch and feathers, let's take a closer look at the message and let it sink in.
Instead of people reacting hypnotized to media headlines and running around whining, read it and think about it with your pancake pan.
My solution is this: Accommodate children in homes for the elderly. Good for the elderly and also for the children. Make it possible for free. How? No idea, let those crack heads in the plush think it up.
Before we get right down to the gray pigeon planet 😉
