Everyone has heard about hypnosis, but few people know exactly what it means. Because hypnosis is such an unknown topic, it is often unloved, or worse, people often find it scary. Hypnosis sounds like something mystical or magical to their ears.
Hypnosis
In contrast, the concept is as old as mankind itself (the Greeks and Egyptians have used it in their temples of sleep since ancient times) and is completely natural. For example, the trance state, which sometimes characterizes hypnosis, can be compared to the state you fall into when daydreaming, watching television or playing a video game.
You are momentarily unaware of your critical mind (Is everything I see possible?) and your focus is reinforced on one particular thing (television, video game, an idea, ...).
It has been scientifically proven that our brains show different brain activity during normal life and once in hypnosis.
Your blood pressure, circulation, heart rate and metabolism are normalized, putting you into a special waking state.
Thus, it affects psychological as well as physical processes.
Also, many people are afraid that ideas can be forced upon them or that they will lose control once they are in hypnosis.
However, this is impossible: you always have power and control over what happens to you in your hypnosis. When you no longer want to, you simply open your eyes again and the hypnosis stops.
As a hypnotist and hypnotherapist, you assist in the process and your job is to give the right suggestions to the hypnotized person. An important task that should certainly not be underestimated, but always in collaboration with the hypnotized person.
Did you know that hypnotherapy is one of the most effective therapies?

Moreover, it opens the door to all kinds of other possibilities, so you can get back to work with the new creativity and peace you create in yourself and others.
To help people
Of course, as a hypno
tiseur and hypotherapist, you can also use your power to help those around you with problems they can't get rid of themselves. After all, in hypnosis you can unlearn bad habits, instill good habits and reduce negative emotions, stress and fears. You can also help them with physical ailments such as sleep disorders, acne, headaches and asthma. Allowing them to focus attention on their inner processes, experiences and images increases their creativity and problem-solving abilities. Thus, you actually help them help themselves, but without you it would remain impossible for many.
To start a practice
As mentioned above, hypnosis is a skill that not many people practice and that you can help many people with, so why not make it a practice?
Hypnosis can be used for medical and psychotherapeutic purposes as well as for entertainment and self-development. For topics such as sports, education and rehabilitation, you can be a great help to society with your hypnosis practice.Who knows, maybe you will find a gap in the market!
To help family
Do you have a family member struggling with anxiety that just won't go down? Is your mother struggling with a dormant problem that she just can't find the origin of?
Do you have a sister or brother who suffers a lot from acne or headaches? With hypnosis, you can finally help these people who are so close to your heart.By including them in the learning process of hypnosis, together you can uncover the origins of conflicts and symptoms. Step by step, the problem becomes more visible and the solution clearer.
To help friends
It's often hard when your friends around you are struggling. You feel there is nothing you can do to help them and this is frustrating.
Through hypnosis, however, you can help them find their pure, uninhibited self. You can find your way with them to the origins of dormant problems and find a solution together. You no longer have to sit on the sidelines watching others have fears or sorrows, because you can help them overcome them.
Whether it's for a fear, physical pain or negative emotions, you are there for them. Because that's what friends are for.
To amaze people
Many people may be somewhat skeptical or doubtful of hypnosis at first. They don't believe in how it works, find it scary or have very little knowledge of it. It is therefore very special to amaze these people with your hypnosis skills.

Because you just never stop learning
We learn every day. However, this is mostly about things we experience in our conscious mind. Imagine all the things we could still learn if we opened the door of our subconscious? There is so much to learn outside the subjects of school or training from work.
Hypnosis lets you be stronger in life. Being able to hypnotize yourself may be a trait that previously didn't occur to you to learn, but it's going to: after all, you never stop learning!
It's something different again
How often do you hear people say they are working with hypnosis? Probably not very often. While everyone else is practicing courses like knitting, pottery or painting, you can become proficient in hypnosis, a skill that will benefit you all your life.
It is only a small investment when you see afterwards how much different you will experience the world. You will be able to help with things that otherwise would have seemed impossible to you. You will discover elements of yourself that you would never have noticed before. Why wouldn't you want to learn something so meaningful? True, it is not the most obvious choice, but who knows, it may be just what you need!

You want to help yourself
Want to quit smoking? Have you been trying to lose weight for years? Do you suffer from migraines or depression and nothing helps reduce them? Hypnosis can be the solution to this.

You can also go to the deepest subconscious in yourself through self-hypnosis. You train yourself to solve your own deep-seated problems. Your attention becomes completely focused on inner processes, images and memories. Hypnotherapy is thus the key to understanding that one conflict, fear or symptom that keeps haunting you.
Likewise, by giving new meaning to an old meaning, you can develop a better sleeping pattern or develop in yourself a desire for sports. With the right suggestions, you can make yourself believe that you like Brussels sprouts and not unhealthy sweets. Thus you create a healthier and better life, all according to your own desires and needs!
You want to be able to relax more deeply
In hypnosis, you go to the depths of your subconscious. You do not sleep, but you are in a pure state of relaxation. So if you are suffering from stress or just having a busy day, hypnosis is the perfect solution to regain harmony within yourself.
Both physically, (by reducing muscle tension) and mentally (by getting rid of anxiety and stress) you will feel more relaxed.
You want to find out where those blockages are coming from
In hypnosis state, your full focus goes to your inner processes. You thus gain full access to all kinds of inner resources that you are otherwise unaware of. The otherwise alert and critical part of yourself now disappears into the background for a while and makes way for the uninhibited, creative and pure side of yourself. You can thus search for the causes of symptoms or conflicts and better understand them step by step in the learning process of hypnosis.
You want to explore undiscovered abilities
During hypnosis, your brain remains active, which increases your creativity and problem-solving abilities. You become much more pure, uninhibited and even smarter. Many abilities that are otherwise repressed can now surface. The more abilities you develop, the stronger you are in life. Thus, you can then better build a successful and happy life.
You are curious about the phenomenon
Perhaps you yourself have only recently heard of hypnosis or are not quite sure what it entails. There are many misconceptions about hypnosis. Many people think it is something mystical and scary where all control over yourself is taken away.
However, if you try a course in hypnosis yourself you will immediately see how wrong these ideas are.Hypnosis, as mentioned above, is a state of inner peace where you access your unconscious. This causes you to become much more creative and inventive.
The hypnotist does not take control, but guides you through suggestions to certain themes. Memories, images or ideas are thus evoked from which you can learn a great deal.
Suppose you're still not convinced, ask yourself for a moment: what do I have to lose? Why shouldn't I give it a try?
There's nothing worse than missing opportunities out of fear or disbelief!
You want to become the next Rasti Rostelli
Rasti Rostelli is a Dutch hypnotist who effortlessly sells out entire halls when he performs. He is fully committed to entertaining people with his hypnosis skills.
It is important with these types of shows to also take a moment to consider their purpose and how they work correctly. The main goal is to give the audience an enjoyable evening. To add to the wow effect, light and sound are also played with and magic tricks are occasionally used.
The individuals in question have usually been around a long time, they have worked on their show for a long time and know exactly what to pay attention to. Of course, none of this is to say that it is impossible for you to reach this level.
Hypnosis itself is not very difficult to learn, and with lots of practice and the right guidance, a hall show might be for you as well. Will you become the Rasti Rostelli of the new generation? Will you fill up the halls?
You want faster results
Therapy often takes a long time and it then remains to be seen if the really deep-seated issues are resolved. Not only is hypnotherapy more effective than behavioral therapy and psychoanalysis (93% versus 72% and 38%), it is also cheaper (€1197 versus €2500 and €10000) and requires fewer sessions before a result is achieved (6 versus 22 and 600 sessions).
Of course, this does not mean that hypnosis is an immediate panacea, but it significantly speeds up certain therapy processes.
You want to go to past lives
Do you believe you have had past lives? Then hypnosis is a way for you to discover them. This is because hypnosis opens the door of your subconscious. You can also touch things from the past life, because somewhere this is still unconsciously hidden in you.Once you know who or what you were in your past lives it can affect your daily life very hard. You can learn a lot from this about why you are who you are and why you do what you do.For people who are not at all open to the idea of past lives, hypnosis will not help uncover them.
This is because in hypnosis, you always help set the direction. These people will not open up in hypnosis to discovering past lives.
You want to know your mission on earth
We are not always aware of it and it often seems like an abstract and distant concept, but what is the reason for our individual existence? If this question goes unanswered for too long, however, it can lead a person to feel useless and redundant.
So it is important to consciously ask ourselves the question "What is my mission in this world?"
And what needs to change to succeed in this mission?
This requires great openness, questioning your own habits and goals. You need to look at your problems and worse traits as well as your qualities and growth potential.
Through hypnosis, you can discover all the abilities you still have within you. These can make your mission clearer and when you have a good contact with your unconscious you can find out what your true mission is.
You want to get in touch with your higher self or higher conscious
The more open you are to "your higher self" the better you can get in touch with it. People who can't believe in this won't be able to create contact either, but people who do believe in it will, and that has definite benefits.
Indeed, if you do believe in it, in having a conscious, unconscious and higher conscious, you can get in touch with the latter two through hypnosis.
This works as follows: first we get in touch with the unconscious from which we receive all kinds of signals. Once we receive these we can take the next step by asking the unconscious to connect with our higher consciousness.
Almost always, this one will be pushed to the front, allowing you to connect with your higher self. You can now ask this one all kinds of questions, such as "what is my mission in life?" A very instructive and far-reaching experience!
You want to get more out of your sport
Hypnosis can significantly improve your athletic performance. On top of that, it still has the therapeutic function. These are very closely related, as it has been proven that the mental state in athletes affects very hard their performance in training and competitions.
Hypnosis can thus be seen as the necessary mental training in addition to regular physical training.Hypnosis helps the athlete learn to relax himself better and learn to focus on his goal, while learning to ignore all distractions. This can also help reduce anxiety, nervousness or stress that comes with the high performance pressure of athletes.
Hypnosis helps you become more motivated to exercise and more aware of your own body.

These techniques are widely used by coaches and psychologists. Among athletes, its use has been known since the 1920 Olympics in Russia.
Many studies have also been done on it. These showed that in basketball, golf, long-distance runners, archery and badminton, performance levels increased each time hypnosis was used.
So it is applicable to a collection of very diverse sports.
I myself used this to get my black belt Aikido within 3 years, which is quite fast by aikido standards.

You want to resolve your fears
The critical mind of our consciousness is blocked off in hypnosis state, so to speak. This ensures that in everyday life, when we see our fears, for example a mouse or a dark depth, we immediately make the link to danger.
We can go back to when this negative association first took place.

We call this regression. By going back to this moment, you can disconnect the fear from the object. So we disconnect "danger" from "the mouse or the dark depths."
Critical thinking also no longer stands in our way.Once critical consciousness is reactivated, you can also immediately learn from this disconnection. Thus, hypnosis is a perfect way to deal with old, deep-seated fears.
You want to relive your cool experiences again
There are those moments when everything falls together perfectly, when everyone is happily together and all you can think about is how beautiful the world is. Unfortunately, like all others, those moments are gone in a flash.
Situations change, people leave or become ill, but what if you could recall these wonderful experiences? At times when things take a turn for the worse, this can be a huge support.
Another question you might ask yourself: why not do it?
For example, you can relive your Party Experiences again like I did at BNN years ago ;-)
You want to relive your memories
The brain stores all your memories, so by digging deeper into your brain you can relive certain memories in your mind through hypnosis. These can be fun memories, but also events that you have not yet processed.
You can fully choose which memories to allow and which not.It is often very instructive to recall certain memories.
In fact, you can learn a lot from it about why you or things around you are the way they are. Once you have this information you can choose what to change about this if necessary.
You want to install new beliefs faster
Beliefs can often be very limiting. For example, we acquire many beliefs in our childhood that, once we become adults, we can't make sense of, but also can't let go of.
An example is if you had a nasty experience with a spider as a child and have fear of spiders all your life because of this.Through hypnosis, however, you can recover the core of old convictions and reverse them.
By revisiting the unpleasant experience and seeing that the spider is separate from the fear, your phobia can disappear. This also allows you to install entirely new beliefs. In everyday life, our critical mind would have a harder time allowing this new belief to be installed, but fortunately during hypnosis it is not present, if at all.
All you need to do is open up your subconscious for this and you can incredibly quickly add entirely new beliefs that can enrich your life.
You want to focus more
Do you want to study without being distracted all the time? Do you want to find inner peace? With hypnosis it is possible! In fact, hypnosis sharpens your focus on the elements you want to put it on yourself.
The distractions and critical mind that otherwise always disrupt our focus is turned off during hypnosis. You are in a state of pure focus, so to speak. This allows you to get much more out of an image, idea or memory.
If you do this multiple times, this focus will extend to your consciousness as well. You will thus become calm and more focused in daily life through hypnosis as well.

You want to use it to learn better
We all experience obstacles when we try to learn. Examples include low self-confidence, low motivation, diminished memory capacity and/or fear of failure. Hypnosis, however, can eliminate these ailments.
During hypnosis you are in complete inner peace, you can focus better, your internal motivation grows and your ability to visualize becomes stronger. Step by step you can improve your memory. In this way, hypnosis helps in learning itself, but also in retaining and recalling new information.
Even old learning experiences can be recalled through hypnosis. This works for sensory, motor and concept memory. Sensory memory uses you to distinguish sight, sounds and tastes. Motor memory deals with coordination and movements. Concept memory is the part of your memory that works around everything from words and ideas.
Your critical mind that causes you to doubt your own abilities fades into the background, allowing you to return to your full potential. Not only does this help you learn better, but your self-confidence actually grows back.

You want to relax or sedate your patients
Many people who go to the doctor or dentist have a fear of this. This complicates treatment for the doctor and is uncomfortable for the patient. However, hypnosis has been proven to reduce fear of the doctor or dentist.
Hypnosis is also successfully used by doctors and psychologists to treat depression, anxiety, eating disorders, sleep disorders, stage fright, compulsive gaming behavior and post-traumatic stress. Hypnosis can also be used for smoking cessation or weight loss.Dr. Gerard Sunnen of the New York University School of Medicine explains in advance that hypnosis is the most powerful non-pharmacological way in science to relax people. Without exception, he recommends hypnosis before he will prescribe tranquilizers.
You want to help your patients become pain-free
Hypnosis has been repeatedly proven to help alleviate pain and cure disease. Many scientific studies show that hypnosis can help reduce pain caused by burns, bone marrow aspiration and childbirth.
The Internaltional Journal of Clinical and Experimnetal Hypnosis proved in one of its studies that hypnosis alleviated pain in 75% of participants, conducted in 27 different experiments.Hypnosis is also a good tool for pain management in cancer and chronic diseases.
It is even claimed by some people that it can improve their immune system.
Likewise, hypnosis can relieve pain from headaches, fibromyalgia, dental surgery and related ailments.
Hypnosis should not be confused with placebo. Hypnosis has a proven greater effect on pain relief than placebo in people who are open to suggestion.
You want to get even stronger (physically)
Hypnosis can also bring about physical changes. For example, a 2015 study involved 29 subjects who had to spend a month with their wrists in plaster.
Half of these subjects had to do regular mental strength exercises, in other words they had to visualize themselves applying force to muscles.

The other half did not have to do these exercises. After 4 weeks, the cast was allowed to come off. Needless to say, all participants had weaker wrist muscles than before the experiment. What was very remarkable, however: the loss of strength was 50 smaller in the group that had still done mental strength exercises than in the other group.
These mental visualizations are likely to activate certain areas in the cerebral cortex that curb debilitation.
However, this works for all types of physical training: if you fit in your head, your brain will think you are really doing more exercise. Thus, you can make yourself fitter and stronger!
You want to get everything out of it!
Have you ever had super crazy and amazing dreams or daydreams? This is our subconscious showing itself at the top for a moment. Imagine being able to control this yourself and experience it much more consciously. Day in and day out we are only concerned with our conscious, when there is so much more inside us.
So to fully understand ourselves, we must also dare to look into our deepest core. With hypnosis and hypnosis training, you can open it up.
You can work with all your emotions, habits, addictions, fixed beliefs, creativity, imagination, personal development and memories. All opportunities that are within you and that only you can get out!
